so Jesus died so we can be reconciled with God, and Jesus blood saves us unless we look at some boobys? or listen to the new Eminem album? wow, thats some real valuable blood. witnesses might be better off just instituting the Mosaic Law.

Dwelling on wrong thoughts can lead to a state of mind in which a person is willing to throw away his precious relationship with jehovah (GB) in exchange for something to which he has no right (jas 1:14,15)
Yeah, like a college degree, a successful career, independent thought and morality....

eisegesis: I like that. Does this mean like when you take two obscure references to 144,000 saints in a highly symbolic and little-understand book in the NT - and then construct a doctrine of two destinies for all christians and make for yourselves an elite ruling class of super-christians? Don't forget that JC is not your mediator unless you are in the club...

I have a little book that I get from a local church, it's called "Our Daily Bread" and strangely enough today's subject is about having a relationship of friendship with Jesus:
June 18, 2008 An Invitation To Friendship ODB RADIO: Listen Now | Download READ: John 15:9-17 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends. —John 15:15
I grew up in a home with lots of wall plaques. One had a quotation by poet Claude Mermet that stands out in my mind: “Friends are like melons; let me tell you why: To find a good one, you must one hundred try!”
Most of us can identify with that. It’s hard to find good friends.
I wonder if God ever feels that way about us? Out of all the people in the Old Testament, only one was ever called His friend. In Isaiah 41:8, God says that He chose Jacob, who was an offspring of “Abraham My friend.” Pretty exclusive club! So you can imagine how shocking it was for the disciples to hear Jesus say, “No longer do I call you servants, . . . but I have called you friends” (John 15:15).
Better yet, He is saying that to us as well. So, what does friendship with Jesus look like? It starts with commitment. As He said, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (v.14). Then He added the dynamic of communication. He promised to tell us all that the Father has told Him (v.15). Are you listening? And as His friends we begin to bear fruit (v.16), sharing a commonality with Him by reflecting His glory in our attitudes and actions (2 Cor. 3:18).
Jesus welcomes you to the privilege of friendship with Him! Are you His friend?

OK - two observations on the "daily text" 1. I hardly knew anybody who actually read it, even special pioneers. Unless, of course, the CO was there to start the service day. 2. Isn't this absolutely one of the most asinine control mechanisms they ever thought up? I mean - after all, they all have a bible - why not just suggest to them to open it up to some random page, and read perhaps about a chapter (so as to actually see what the context was?) Answer - all the borg must be assimilated to be reading the same verse everywhere with the exact same thoughts in their heads.

The
Rock,. . .aGodoffaithfulness,withwhomthereisnoinjustice;righteousanduprightishe.—Deut.32:4.Unlike the animal creation, which is largely guided by instinct, Adam had the ability to make choices. When Jehovah chose to lay a command upon Adam not to eat of "the tree of the knowledge of good and bad," He provided adequate instruction so that Adam could decide what to do. (Gen. 2:16, 17) What would Adam do? Jehovah apparently chose not to foresee what Adam—and Eve—would do, even though He has the ability to know everything in advance. It is therefore a question, not of whether Jehovah can foresee the future, but of whether he chooses to do so. Furthermore, we can reason that Jehovah, being a God of love, would not knowingly and cruelly predetermine that rebellion—with all its sad consequences—should take place. (Matt. 7:11; 1 John 4:8) Thus, as far as Jehovah’s exercise of foreknowledge is concerned, it is selective. w6/1/06 14-17
So are we to believe that God just sat there that whole time thinking to himself, I wonder what Adam is doing today? I really have no idea because I choose not to foresee the future.
Is it just me or does that text just seem dumb?
