Technically, the Boston Celtics are the "NBA Champions".
The NBA (National Basketball Association) is the world's premier league. There are over 50 non-American players in the league (out of a total of maybe 350 in the league).
The best players from the world come to this league to compete. Boston didn't have any non-Americans, but some non-American stars in the league include France's Tony Parker who plays for San Antonio, China's Yao Ming who plays for Houston, Russia's Andrei Kirilenko who plays for the Utah Jazz, and the L.A. Lakers had Pao Gasol from Spain and Vladimir Radmonivec from Serbia.
