Bardstown KY the burbon capitol of the world...
Big Bone Lick State Park. First time I went, I expected something different, But is still a fun, neat place to visit..., and if you go on Tuesday, there is a big flea market not too far away, I have bought some incredible stuff there!

Also, if you like the outdoors, there is Mammoth Cave park.
Drive US hwy 23 South from the Ohio river all the way to the Virginia line, it has been named the Country Music Highway as every county on that road had a major country artist who came from there.
Visit the Cumberland Gap as there is lots of history there as well as scenery, don't forget to drive through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel, which was the longest tunnel at one time, may still be.
I will give it a look-see zeroday, primarily because I like to experiment with various cooking marinades that use bourbon.
Thanks Ohiocowboy, and BTW I enjoyed meeting you in Dallas back in '06! I will give the big bone lick a try.

And I will take you on your recommendation. I really like the outdoors and I think it will be up my alley.

Don’t live in and never been to Kentucky (yet), but Mammoth Cave National Park is on my hotlist of places to visit.
And the Corvette museum for Mr. B., who has a ’76 but still mourns his ’69.
We’ve heard accolades about the great boating down there, too.
Caves, Lakes & Corvettes: What’s not to love?

Same here! Even though it was pouring rain, and we all got lost! You have to come to the next fest we have here!
I also used to enjoy going to Lexington every now and then, it is a clean city, and there are some neat cafe's, shops and restaurants. I don't know when you are going, but the world's longest yard sale goes through Kentucky Aug. 7-10 on Hwy 127. There are some scenic areas, and there are literally thousands of yard sale vendors set up along there. Every time I go, I only make it half way through Kentucky, even though it starts in Ohio and continues to Alabama. Last year, I paid for my whole trip when I got back home by reselling some of the things I bought there!
Don't live in KY, live in Michigan.
MI is a great place to visit
Hi Blackswan,
I will tell you when I make it up there Irish sis...
