I believe it. Pioneers and wannabees were going out doing the convenience store circuit at 4 am in this area, back when i was still in. I'm sure there is plenty of goofing off on the 11pm to 3 shift, but then, there is plenty of goofing off with all witnessing, eh?

yup, in cities it is fairly common, although i personally haven't heard about anyone getting 100% of their time this way. I have, however, known several who have made most of their time that way.

Here is 2 questions I don't know the answer to.
1. Has the Watchtower ever printed any guidelines for counting time, such as the do's and dont's?
2. In the larger cities where they actually do work the convenience stores after dark, are they required to only work those in their territory or are they allowed to work all areas of the city? -

No way!!! Theres only one 2 o'clock in the day and thats in the pm!!
I was coerced(?) into aux pioneering in October. I UK October is DARK at 5 pm and I was working full time aswell so we were out in the min till 8 ish pm.....never again!! So 2 am sounds plain lunacy.

When I lived in Florida there was several people that did that. It highlighted just how crazy these people are.
This practice is dangerous and was part of the overall obsessive compulsive behavior of many witnesses.
