I can't believe I forgot this song. John Denvers, Annie's song
I was 12 yrs old the first time I heard this song and It played on the radio a while ago.

    You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
    Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
    Like a sleepy blue ocean
    You fill up my senses
    Come fill me again

    Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
    Come let me love you
    Come love me again

Let me give my life to you
    Come let me love you
    Come love me again

    You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
    Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
    Like a sleepy blue ocean
    You fill up my senses
    Come fill me again

"I don't want someone in my life I can live with, I want someone in my life I can't live without."

I think I've found the ultimate romantic song. SevenOfNine, would you sing it with me? Thanks.

    Six
She don't like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin' her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the Easter Bunny
She's my baby I'm her honey
I'm never gonna let her go

    Seven
He ain't got laid in a month of Sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin' my undies
He ain't too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like it's oxygen
    He's my baby
    And I'm his honey
    Never gonna let him go

    Both
    In spite of ourselves
    We'll end up a'sittin' on a rainbow
    Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
    We're gonna spite our noses
    Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
    Dancin' in our eyes.

    Six
She thinks all my jokes are corny
    Convict movies make her horny
She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs
Swears like a sailor when shaves her legs
    She takes a lickin'
    And keeps on tickin'
I'm never gonna let her go.

    Seven
He's got more balls than a big brass monkey
He's a whacked out weirdo and a lovebug junkie
Sly as a fox and crazy as a loon
Payday comes and he's howlin' at the moon
    He's my baby I don't mean maybe
    Never gonna let him go

    Both
    In spite of ourselves
We'll end up a sittin' on a rainbow
    Against all odds
Honey, we're the big door prize
    We're gonna spite our noses
    Right off of our faces
There won't be nothin' but big old hearts
    Dancin' in our eyes.

There are many but this one by Gordon Lightfoot has always been a fav. Heard it once done by a female Japanese musician and was haunted forever by her rendition of this song...

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes
and the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
to the night and the empty skies my love, to the night and the empty skies.

The first time ever I kissed your mouth, I felt the earth turn in my hand
like the trembling heart of a captive bird
that was there at my command my love, that was there at my command.

The first time ever I lay with you and felt your heart beat close to mine,
I thought our joy would fill the earth
And would last till the end of time my love, and would last till the end of time.

The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes
and the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
to the night and the empty skies my love, to the night and the empty skies.

    Somebody Depeche Mode

    I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
    Share my innermost thoughts
    Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
    And give me support
    And in return
    She'll get my support
    She will listen to me
    When I want to speak
About the world we live in
    And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
    They may even be perverted
    She'll hear me out
    And won't easily be converted
    To my way of thinking
    In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
    She will understand me
    Aaaahhhhh....

    I want somebody who cares
    For me passionately
    With every thought and
    With every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
    In a different light
    All the things I detest
    I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
    To anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of
    Those things
    But when I'm asleep
    I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
    And kiss me tenderly
    Though things like this
    Make me sick
    In a case like this
    I'll get away with it
    Aaaahhhhh.... ,

Hey Lilacs and Kismet, excellent choices! Kismet, you wouldn't be partial to Mr. Lightfoot because he hails from Toronto? OK, I won't give you any more "Flack" about "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", sung best by Roberta Flack.

Here's my favorite from Casablanca, sung by Dooley Wilson:

    As Time Goes By...

    Lyrics and Music by Herman Hupfeld;
© 1931 Warner Bros. Music Corp., ASCAP

This day and age we're living in
    Gives cause for apprehension
    With speed and new invention
    And things like fourth dimension
Yet we get a trifle weary
    With Mr. Einstein's theory
So we must get down to earth at times
    Relax relieve the tension
And no matter what the progress
Or what may yet be proved
The simple facts of life are such
    They cannot be removed

    You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh
    The fundamental things apply
    As time goes by
    And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you"
    On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
    As time goes by

    Moonlight and love songs
    Never out of date
    Hearts full of passion
    Jealousy and hate
    Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
    That no one can deny

Well, it's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
    As time goes by
Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
    As time goes by

    Romantic music...

Slow dancing in the dark to Joe Sample (jazz piano player) playing "Stormy Weather."

But if it's sexy music and lyrics you want, I like Madonna's "Where Life Begins" on the "Erotica" cd.

"How you want to eat it
    depends on how you feel
you can eat all you want and you don't get fat
now where else can you go for a meal like that.

"I know that in this crucial hour
My faith will yet be tested.
Around me swarms the Devil’s crowd
    Like bees that were molested."

["Jehovah Is on My Side" Song 125]

    Oh, such a beautiful song!!!

Hey Six, Sure. Let's sing-miss you at the cafe. And Kismet, we were thinking about the same song so I'll post my second favorite romantic number. Bab's singing the famous tribute to Fanny Brice:

    MY MAN

    A tribute to Fanny Brice.

Oh my man I love him so
    He'll never know
All my life is just despair
    But I don't care
When he takes me in his arms
    The world is bright, alright,
What's the difference if I say
    I'll go away
When I know I'll come back
    On my knees someday
    Oh whatever my man is
    I am his
    Forever more

    It cost me a lot
But that's one thing that I've got
    It's my man
    Cold and wet
    Tired you bet
But all that I soon forget
    With my man
    He's not much for looks
And no hero out of books
    He's my man
Two or three girls has he
That he likes as well as me
    But I love him

Oh my man I love him so
    He'll never know
All my life is just despair
    But I don't care
When he takes me in his arms
    The world is bright, alright,
What's the difference if I say
    I'll go away
When I know I'll come back
    On my knees someday
    Oh whatever my man is
    I am his
    Forever more

Elvis, singing "I can't help falling in love with you". Gets me every time I hear it.

I also love "Always on my Mind", not necessarily by Willie Nelson, who is not a romantic singer.

Interestingly, I also LOVE Jackie Chan (yes the martial arts guy also sings), and he sang both of them on Rosie O'Donnell's show one day, about two years ago. I was in heaven!!
