We have elected leaders to govern us, protect us and plan for the future. They have had over 30 years since the first oil embargo to do something and now we are likely to reach some tipping point soon in global warming. Maybe we could have prevented it and maybe not. If our leaders continue to let the Corporations dictate policy then we eventually may overthrow our government after our resources become scarce. It only takes 3 or 4 days without food, water and electricity for poor docile citizens to become an uncontrollable mob looking for someone to hang.
