I believe gambling is a sin. I work for a bankruptcy attorney, I've seen the lives it can destroy.

no more so than a business venture or buying stocks. It is when greed causes stupid decisions it is a problem.

It depends. I know Christians that were hardcore gamblers, and now they can't even watch a sporting event without having to fight the temptation for action. Therefore, to them it is a sin.
Personally, I have gambled before, and since becoming a Christian. When I have gambled it was usually on games that have the lowest house percentage (blackjack and some of the bets on craps). However, I have not wagered more than $5 or $10 dollars, and I played with $100 to $200 bankrolls.
Gambling is like drinking alcohol. Good, relaxing and enjoyable in moderation, but horrible when abused.

Keno is a favorite pastime
Ouch! High house percentage. You might as well mail your money to Vegas, and save the hotel cost, lol!

I'm a streak player. Either I'll win $$$ every week for 2 months or just the opposite. In the end, everyone loses but the state.

I never had an issue with that rule because I know that the lottery is a losing proposition. However, I see nothing wrong with a person that plays a game or two of lottery from time to time. Nor is it any worse to spend a few hundred dollars gambling than it is to spend that same money on going to a Grand Boasting Session (if anything, I would rather gamble than protect pedophiles).

I'll bet anyone here $20 that gambling is not a sin.

only me
I only believeed it's a sin if you're gambling money that you can't afford to lose. Still feel that way I guess.
I live near a casino but have only gone there to see concerts and play the quarter slots.
Once in a while, I'll pick up a lottery ticket, won nine dollars on a dollar scratcher yesterday.

Tired of the Hypocrisy
The only time I ever heard it was a sin was when Robert Mitchum told someone that it was because the Roman soldiers gambled for his clothes....I play lotto every week.
