They fear them for the same reason everyone feared Nazis in the 40s, Communists in the 50s-80s and Muslims today. Validation. The washtowel society has to keep them so fired up and scared of demons that they have no time to research them!

once while in FS, I ( and others ) noted that the wind kept picking up a lot when I'd get to a door. It would blow the pamphlets etc off the doors. I noticed it but it seemed to scare the h*ll out of the car group. People were afraid to sit by me.
so i guess my demon was the wind, and the wind was with me that day. lol
bet someone is telling that story even now
so true, Fundy Churches use hell to keep people in line. jws use the big A and demons but mostly they use the fear of shunning. that works better than any demons.

A year or so ago I gave my sister a book by Lillian Braun. It was a mystery with the main character a cat with 'special' powers to solve murders. Very light interesting read. My sister left it in her car as she noticed on the dust cover about the cat with physic powers. She was afraid to take it into the house. A couple days later she was driving her very old car down the street and the radio came on full blast & scared her. It happened again a day or so later. By then she had figured out it was the book that was demonized so she threw it out the window while she was driving down the street.
Demons also made her computer crash. I sent her an email with a list of quotations from the old WT publications. Her computer crashed as she opened that email and for some reason she thought it was demonized. I don't think she realized the quotes were from WT stuff. (Personally I believe that's where her demons are coming from - all that WT stuff.)

It is LACK OF FAITH on the part of the witnesses.
They are scared of demons and think that their god - Jehovah - would allow demons to mess with them.
Surely they would be protected by Jah all the time?
Surely Jah would not allow a demon to enter their home?
When I left the JWs I faced my fears head on. I have used Ouija boards, divination, witchcraft, mediumship and I have learned that nothing can mess with you without your permission. (obviously doing such things can be deemed an invite or permission, hence the things I mentioned should not be toyed with). Faith and right motives are all the protection you need.

"Demons" can easily be conjured up (in your head) by fear. If you really believe they exist, they'll turn up in every creaking door, every knocking tree branch, every shadow cast...
Since JWs don't have any positive sightings of angels (save for a couple of urban legends doing their rounds), and "demons" are so easy to conjure up (in your head), demons are easier to believe in, and an easier confirmation of their beliefs.
- That's the way it was for me; I had never seen or heard an angel in my life, but "demons"? Heck yeah. So to me, "physical manifestations" of "demons" were for a long time my only reason to believe in anything supernatural, and I inferred that since demons existed, angels and God had to as well.
A good question then could be, I guess, why JWs never have physical encounters with angels, like other religious people seem to. Perhaps because JWs are a very non-supernatural religion, when you think about it. It's all men and books.

Back in the eighties I bought a used white stratocaster with a blonde neck from a local music store.
It was a little banged up, and had a few buzzy frets, but when played with enough distortion, the buzzy frets
were not noticable. I don't use whammy bars on these strats since they throw the guitar out of tune. What I
do is pull the back plate on the guitar and tighten the springs until the bridge sits flat against the body
of the guitar. Well, the backplate on this used strat was held on by two screws, and when I pulled the screws
and removed the plate, I found someones small stash of pot back there.
The guitar was previously owned by a "pothead".
OK, thats a preface to the real story.
I was home alone one night listening to music in the living room, and drinking. I had a combo CD with lots of various artists
on it, mostly guitar. I came to a triple shot of Hendrix on the CD: "Third stone from the sun", "Are you experienced",
and my favorite "Voodoo Chile". I like strumming along with "Voodoo Chile", so I go downstairs and get my previously
pothead owned stratocaster and my practice amp. I bring them upstairs and set up next to the stereo.
I just start playing, and the phone rings.
I kill the volume and go to the kitchen to pick up the phone. The phone stops ringing just as I pick it up.
(This was before caller ID, so I had no idea who had called.) So I go back to the living room and crank up the music again.
I was playing along for a few minutes, and the phone started ringing again. I ignored it this time, but after 10 rings,
I decided to go answer it.
I said "Hello?".
On the other end of the line I heard a voice. It was my mom. She said:
"Your dad and I are going to California for two weeks, and we were hoping you would come take care of our house while we are gone."
I said "Sure, no problem".
So I hung up the phone and went back into the living room and rocked out for a couple more hours and then went to bed. -

They use the threat of demons to keep the witlesses in line on matters that the hounders can't always be there. They will use that threat on things like porn, apostate Web sites, bad music, most movies, the holidays, and possession of things that worldly people once had. This even sequesters them from worldly people, except when they are out in field circus.
I have put it to the test. I have some of the most "demonized" CDs including Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones (Sympathy for the Devil). I have all sorts of "sun-worship" decorations, including the crosses. I bought a Ouija board. I have visited satanic Web sites (blatantly Satanic ones, not just the apostate sites). And I have quite a few apostate posts here.
I am not afraid of the demons. What I am afraid of is that Jehovah Himself is manipulating affairs so the witlesses can recapture me physically at any time (and with no warning), and keep me in a condition where I can be used by the Washtowel Slaveholdery to plunge the whole world into the Second Dark Ages. In the meantime, placing tens of thousands of wastes of paper, tipping the poor waitress at Starbucks with countless wastes of paper (among the whole party), wasting thousands of hours in field circus, and going to all the boasting sessions. Now that is something to be afraid of--not the demons.

The parents(my in-laws) of Mexican descent...ie traditional Catholics gone full blown witnesses.....promptly gave all my albums to the good will store....
As I stated in the first post, my in-laws were also of Mexican descent and lot of her non witnesses relatives celebrated El Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead). Based on your album collection you seem to be about the same age range as me. During the 1970's and early 1980's I was subscribed to several music magazines of the day such as Rolling Stone, Creem, Hit Parader, Circus and the like. I had been collecting these for a long time and at the conclusion of each year, I would stack each type together, sorted by date and put a large rubber band around them and store them in a large cardboard barrel my dad had brought home from his job.
I got married in 1982 and I took this barrel of magazines with me as I thought they may be worth something some day if I kept them in the good condition they were stored in. One day my wife suggested that, due to the small space of our apartment, we move the barrel to her parents house as they had a large detatched garage with extra room. So I put the barrel in my pick-up and drove it over and placed it in the garage.
In 1984 I read an article in a magazine about how a 1974 People magazine with an article on Jim Croce sold for $40.00. So I drove over to my in-laws place to look over a few of my old ones. When I got there my mother-in-law asked why I was there and I when I told her she just said "Oh?" with a funny tone and I proceeded to go to the garage. When I got there I could not find the barrel. Then my father-in-law showed up and said "Donny we were going to tell you this but we kinda forgot" followed by a nervous laugh. He then went on to explain how the house began making noises again not long after I had left the barrel. And you guessed it, it again was caused by demons.
My mother-in-law had went to the garage and opened the barrel and just my luck, a Hit Parader magazine with Kiss on the cover was at the top, and it scared her and she decided the barrel was full of demons. Her husband took it to the landfill later that day. I can't tell you how pissed I was that my 12 year collection of maybe 900 magazines was gone and had been within two weeks of my leaving it there. My ex and I had a big argument that night as I had called her parents "ignorant boneheads". I wasn't so much pissed that they thought demons were in them, I was more upset that they did not call me and give me the chance to remove them. Of course my ex-wife commented "What and bring them here?" in a terrified tone. From that point on I hated it whenever the conversations about demons popped up as it only served as a painful reminder or what had happened.
I am thankful that I never ditched my large vinyl collection and I feel you pain my friend. Now let me go put on my vintage "Highway to Hell."

It just occurred to me that perhaps the reason so many JWs believe in demons is that they were formerly very strong (and very superstitious) Catholics and had experiences which previously they attributed to angels or the spirits of the dead. When they become JWs, they continue to believe that these were real experiences but now attribute them to demons. Having now become enemies of the demons, they are afraid they will be targets for attack.
