No account has been taken account of rabbits dietary habits.. Especially young rabbits are prone to skip meals. They also eat certain fungi which causes them to act strangely.

Hi guys, VM, Joseph and Larc especially.

Well, I was doing my differentiation right. I kept getting the number -1/35 also. However when I did the actual math like larc did I got -2.28 as he did. So I was busting my brain trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I think I understand now. 1/8 is not the rate of change, the rate of change is actually 1/8 divided by 80.

Or you could express the answer as rabbits changing -1/35 per 80 wolves, I think, and get the same result.

I appreciate your help. I was pretty sure I had the problem set up correctly and was differentiating it correctly.

    Thanks very much

Joelbear says,"the rate of change is actually 1/8 divided by 80."

    That's not right, Joelbear; it's "1/8 times 80."

Joelbear says,"Or you could express the answer as rabbits changing -1/35 per 80 wolves"

That's not right, either, Joelbear. What you want to say is, "a decrease by 1/35 of a rabbit per wolf."

I'm afraid that you're going to have to take this class over again; sorry.

    Hi Joseph,

    Thanks for the clarification.

I took this class 17 years ago and made an A. I am auditing it as a refresher. Hopefully I'm not too old to learn it again.

    peace

    Joel
