I, much like the translators of the NWT, can't speak or write ancient Hebrew so I'm not much help to you on your question. I did think that myriad is from the Greek and meant ten thousand as in myriameter=10,000 meters. If it's the same it would be four billion. But, then, it's all Greek to me.

Mysterious
A myriad is 10^4 or 10,000.
So four hundred thousand myriads is 400,000 x 10,000 = 4,000,000,000 (4 billion)
And four thousand myriads is 4,000 x 10,000 = 4,000,000 (4 million)
On a side note a myriad myriad is the largest number that was named in ancient greek times and that was equal to 100,000,000 or one hundred million. Hope this clears things up.

1. Myriads on myriads of brothers
Stand at my side to be,
Each one a faithful witness,
Keeping integrity.
Myriads there are on myriads,
Truly a mighty crowd.
In all the nations of the earth,
They sing God's praise aloud.
2. Myriads on myriads of brothers,
All clad in raiment white,
Stand in Jehovah's temple,
Serving him day and night.
Myriads there are on myriads.
Gladly they let men know
That to Jehovah and his Lamb
They their salvation owe.
3. Myriads on myriads of brothers
-They preach both far and near
God's everlasting good news,
Letting all peoples hear.
And as they keep on preaching,
Though sometimes they're oppressed,
Christ to the pastures green leads them,
Where they find peace and rest. -

TNM,
I replied your pm before I saw the thread.
Mysterious is correct -- except for the second figure, 4,000 x 10,000 = 40,000,000 (40 million).
