Unfortunately the English language does't convey a real meaning of a word "cult" . In my native language- Polish - a word "cult " has a positive connontation in it ; by its natural appearance. Poles have the cult of Virgin Mary , and they see the word " cult" as a positive word .
Jehovah's Witness have a cult of Jesus Christ and it is a true cult. There is another word " sect " and it is used negatively in Poland .
But ... if we read the Bible in Acts 28.22 the first christians were called a sect .And in actuality it was a true sect God Yahweh accepted while He rejected the old Jewish religious system.Most were in error while the small sect called Christians were right religion.
So ,Jehovah's Witnesses be it a cult or a sect come out clean in this analysis.
Now , bear in mind how any organization can function in the hostile environment ? Jehovah's Witnesses have plentitude of enemies around them and it should be no surprise to see strange tacticts that must be performed to keep the organization afloat.
Read the books on how Soviet Union came into existence in what hostile environment and what was done there by Stalin to keep the state afloat . How many milions of people were killed !
The Watchtower doesn't kill anyone .Do you know of anyone killed for disagreement with the doctrine of the Watchtower ?
But go back to few centuries ago and read how many were burned at stake in the inquisitions !
So the Watchtower - some might think - should have a right to do the same knowing how horrible sin people commit by leaving the organization and don't believe in God at all.But of course they are not doing it and will not do as it is God of the Bible who will destroy their enemies. We true believers are not to kill our enemies at this time.

There are incidents where murderers (after having been baptized as JW) have been protected by the elders and congregation. These elders knowing that they committed murder but did not want to testify against them because these crimes were before the murderers got baptized.

I am going to work on some others. Some local churches have requested that we put together a class for them, I thought that this could be the first part of our presentation and then we could go into questions on doctrine ect. Any suggestions??
