No I don't believe there will be a paradise on earth and that humans will live forever - I realise that that belief has stemmed from the founders insecurities.

I do not belive that it is the end though - the journey continues - but again I do not believe it's about clouds, hards and angels either.

The only Paradise is the one we make for ourselves.

It's all so confusing! Why don't the main stream christian church talk about it if it is mentioned in the bible?

paradise on earth makes alot of sense, in alot of ways. This does not have to be an admission that JWs have everything right. However, the destruction of earth doesnt make sense, neither does everyone going to heaven makes sense.

I believe the earth will burn, along with the heavens and then a new earth.

I used to have all of this stuff down pat after reading one pamphlet that explained all about the rapture, the judgment, and armageddon, but sadly I don't know how to communicate this anymore.

In fact when I was reading the King James Bible, it all seemed to make sense to me, everything seemed like it was laid out and chronological.

    bbinkss,

This post I did a couple years ago addresses the lack of logic in the idea of living forever in paradise on earth. Maybe you'll find a point or two here.

If the bible is to be believed it does make sense that man was made to live on earth in a paradise. The accounts in the gospels shows the references that Jesus made in regards to Adam, though he never mentions the name Adam.

Therefore, the obvious logic would be that if man would have never sinned then he would never have died. Personally I can’t logically reason around that. What makes it all difficult for me is when the bible talks about going to heaven.

If everyone is going to heaven, then the point of this life is not much more than the Catholic belief of purgatory. For me, that makes the now life totally pointless. If our ultimate destiny is to go to a heavenly place, why not take us there in the first place and do away with the earth experience altogether. Apart from pain and suffering and horror, there is not a lot that you learn when you are here. Ok, there are a few good things in life, but ultimately, you have to watch your loved ones die before you die yourself. Mmmmmm…..that’s a great. The only thing really to learn from that is how meaningless you really are at the end of the day…..
