Wow! It is so cool that there are folks out there that understand what happened and know the life of a Machinist.

Yeah……That’s not quite the understanding of end milling I really like to equate to. Makes me shudder thinking about your finger going through………yay yay yay yay…….shiver down my spine.

Don’t know what I found the more scary, milling or turning. At the end of the day, they are both as dangerous as hell. But what happened to you is as easy as anything to do. Soooo many times I left the feed going, though normally it would only mess the job up. Just one laps and that’s it……….

    You’ve got a few days off I guess……??

    No.

I have no days off. Workman's Compensation doesn't cover days off unless you miss 5 or more.

I was running an old Cincinnati Mill that was probably dated to the 1940's. This Mill possibly made parts to support the troops during WW2. It is very old, and I wasn't used to running it. I was cutting keyways in a 2.500 inch diameter shaft, and thought I had put the table feed in neutral after touching off the part. I set my X axis and stuck my thumb up there to see if the cutter had made a mark on the front of the shaft. The table feed was moving so slow I didn't notice, and the 5/8 endmill crept up on me spinning 280 RPM.

Some threads I start were meant to be looked at, not just replied to. If people add to it, fine. But if many people are viewing them, that is going to help those who read them to realize that the Washtowel Slaveholdery isn't all it's cracked up to be. And, if just one person stumbles on it, and as a result does not participate in a Waste of Paper Distribution Campaign or go to the Grand Boasting Session, it paid off whether or not anyone replied to it.

My 2 cents. Sometimes everything is said and thats it.

Some people maybe, many are like me.

Sometimes depending on how much time I have to indulge myself, I only respond to the topic of the post. in this case"Do you feel threatened by..." I might just read post one and respond to that without reading the 30 post ahead of me that responded to your initial post.

Then sometimes depending on how provacative the initial post was to me and how much time I have I may go back and see if anyone responded to me, then I may or may not respond back

What I see in your case is you is you should read your initial post.

Than point your finger at everybody here on the board and look at your hand and see you have 3 fingers pointing back at you.

The things you say describing the people here on this board, describe you, and its annoying the crap out of you.

Personally, I dont expect anything out of this board. I'm greatful that its here.

As far as healthy. This is a board supported by ex Jehovahs witnesses. There is nothing mentally healthy about that. You need to take note where you are in life.

Where all here because were not all here. If we ever get our shxt together you wont find us here.

Till then everyone here is carrying their baggage.

I shudder to think of what super apostate powers will be unleashed here and on the unsuspecting world at large now,.....

    Welcome SuperApostateGirl. Cool nic.

Do people here feel threatened by bold posts?

I ask this because it would seem that everyone on this board has an axe to grind, and any "bold" posts that disagree with the majority are ignored. I have found that most of the posts I made ended threads. Am I that logical? Or were people so pissed by what I said that no one would post in that thread anymore?

I have found this forum lacking personality and mostly focusing on the "anger" and "rejection" ones felt after bad experiences in the WTS. Very valid feelings I will admit. But I don't want to live my life that way, and I find this forum a virtual well of self-pity and anger.

People here are so closed minded that they expect everyone to agree with their opinions. If you disagree or post something contraversial, no one else comments in the thread. Is that the way you alienate people with different ideas and opinions? Check out my post history and see how many threads I ended.

I ask: What kind of freedom is to be found in a forum were everyone feels wronged? Where everyone is bitter and angry. The only support found is support of bitterness and anger. That is not healthy.

Not threatened by bold posts. Everyone's got an opinion and a right to free speech.

I don't think everyone here has an axe to grind. Many yes, all, no. As for your thread ending posts, perhaps you expect more reaction/attention than you are getting, no? How's this then? ;)

I don't see this forum as a well of self-pity and anger. Of course that goes with the territory (pun intended) with exiting the cult but I see more support, discussion and healing. Perhaps that's what I choose to see,....:)

To say everyone here is closed minded is a rather closed minded opinion, in my not-so-humble opinion,....;)

As for saying everyone here is bitter and angry, once again, that's just an opinion wrapped in a blanket statement of ignorance.
