There was a brother in a neighboring congragation by the name of Lee Love. He was often called Brother Lee Love. Also, this may be a roomer, but there was a couple in one of the Ohio Congregation by the last name of Butts. They named one of their daughters Ophelia (Oh-Feel-ya).

I don't know if this is a funny name. But the story that happen was funny. Was at a kingdom hall building project. There was 2 brothers talking. One was an older white man, his name was Young, and the other man his name was Blackman.
Brother Young asked, "What is your name?"
In reply the other man said, "I'm Blackman."
Young said, "I did not ask your skin color, I asked for your name." Blackman replied, "That is my name."

Just funny names in general in our town:

Sister works as a nurse for newborns. Woman named her little girl "Filet Mignon". Doctor asked why - and woman said she thought it was pretty.

Man came in our store, writing his receipt, I asked for his name. Bill Fairies. Smirking, I asked if he'd received a lot of trouble over that name? Not smiling at all he responded, "No. I pronounce if Fare-is. Then smiling, he said "Even if that is wrong."

Manager at Applebee's Restaurant is named "Shithead .........". It was a bet between his parents and another couple. Whoever's kid was born first - got to name the other kid. You guessed it - he was late.
He pronounces it "Shi the ad". Works, unless you see it written.

The Episcopalean (sp?) preacher who married my daughter is named Phil Thrillkill. I just looked at him and said "You're parents have a wonderful sense of humor."

In neighboring congregations there was an elder named Loveless, and another whose last name was Elder. So, there were Elder children, and Sister Elder too. But the Loveless family was "priceless".

    Marilyn (a.k.a. Mulan)
