Just saw this topic!!!
I have two teenagers and have always tried to keep up with what was the latest trend. I have also thought that I was a "cool" mom but lately it has come to my attention that I'm not. Do any of you know what an emo is? My daughter informed me that it's kids that are sorta like goth and are very dark. I had been calling them emu. Real cool mom huh? Another term I just figured out is "My bad". Where's the geritol and metamucil?.....

"Emo" is short for emotional, and is most often used in referring to bad cases of teenage angst. "My bad" has been around for some time, and is another phrase that annoys me.
