I hear ya loud and clear. Its a tad frustrating to get so much knowledge and then have to calculate how to dispess it to active family members.

yes, this is the one that mentioned you could very well say hello or carry a small conversation with a dfed person...
I brought that up to an elder recently and he was quite astounded. I had to reference it for him to believe me. -

Oh, I don't know. The JW lady I know sat at my table and proudly explained to me how cold blooded she is towards DFed people. Keep in mind that this woman is trying to convert people to "true Christianity." I was completely turned off. I know plenty of people who do things that I personally believe to be immoral, but I don't blatantly ignore them. I will say hello and exchange pleasantries with them, but I don't "hang out" with them. To me, JWs go too far and come across as goodie-two-shoes whose butts don't stink. We all fall short.

in the 1st century people who were unrepentant wrong doers were still encouraged at what we would consider meetings now. the only people who were to be completly shunned were anti christs like the gnostics. its funny, now when i read those scriptures its so obviously i cant believe i didnt see that when i was a dub.

ok - but you do recognize SOME might be shunned right?
see, that can kinda provide a slippery slope....
