    A Christmas Story!

I love this movie!!!! Ralphie wants a Red Rider Double Action BB gun and the whole movie is about how he goes about making sure he gets one for Christmas.

Here's some classic lines from it:

"You'll shoot your eye out, kid"

"My father wove a tapestry of obscenities that still hang over Lake Michigan, today"

"the queen mother of dirty words, the F dash, dash, dash word!"

The narration is first rate! If you haven't seen it, I recommend it!

    Any other favorites out there?

    Andee,
    I love that movie too!
Remember the little brother eating mashed potatoes like a pig?
And the kid getting his tongue stuck on the flag pole?
There are so many funny things in that movie.

That's it, Mango! The lamp shaped like a womans leg! The ole mans "grand prize". It comes in the box marked "Fragile" or as the ole man pronounces it...Fraa geee leeee! LOL

I love the cartoon version of the Grinch, too. I always get tearful when his tiny heart grows two sizes too large :)

Haven't seen A Christmas Story. I'll check it out the next time it's on.

    I like Home Alone, though.

And that Jimmy Stewart one... you know... the black and white 'classic,' as long as I don't have to actually watch it. I've never seen the dang thing all the way through from start to finish, but it reminds me of the season, so I like having it as background noise while I do other stuff.

Miracle on 34th Street is pretty good too.

    Tj,

The other classic you refer to is "It's a Wonderful Life"....

Me to, I just love the dialouge and spirit of this movie. No matter how many times I see it, I get choked up a bit, when all his friends come over with pockets full of money, to get him outta the jam.

    Andee,

I will have to watch 'Christmas Story' again, my old brain cells keep losing memory each year.

Christmas is my favorite season, just love the whole thing!

    Teejay,

Miracle on 43th Street with the young Natalie Wood is also in my top 5 favorites. I love the court room scene when all the letters that had been piling up at the post office are brought in to prove Kris Kringle is the REAL Santa.

    DannyBear,

I love the whole season too. It's such a joy to see my kids enjoy it with such abandon. This time of year always puts me in baking mode. It's just not Christmas time unless the smell of cinnamon is in the air
