That is a longshot buddy.
Actually, it is totally false and untrue. Who the hell posts with a video anyway?

No, actually it is totally true. I've posted 3 topics about this and the ignorance and 'dont care' is astounding.

Oil trading done in US dollars.
2000 Iraq changes all its US dollar denominated accounts to Euro denominated accounts.
2003 US bitch slaps Iraqi dick in the dirt, converts its Euro denominated oil accounts back to US Dollar denominated oil accounts. I mean helps Iraq become a democractic nation.

So, if Iraq decides to sell oil in Euros, then this causes the demand for Euros in the US to rise dramatically, which in turn causes the value of the dollar to plummet, triggering runaway inflation? Is that how it works? Sounds like a plausible explanation for the invasion to me. On 9/11 didn't Donny Rumsfeld write on a scrap of paper something to the effect of, 'find a way to pin this on Saddam'? They were obviously looking for a reason.

There is probably a lot that goes on behind the scenes regarding the UK ... logically, we should have switched to using the Euro but America probably wouldn't like that.

Rather than acting as a warning to other countries, what Bush and Co did in Iraq was demonstrate how weak an ineffective they are. I don't think Iran will be particularly worried by US threats.

I agree that Iran is not particularly worried. I find it amusing that ever since Iran released the video of their missile testing, the US has decided it would like to start communicating with them again.

Dan my pitiful understanding of it is more like the whole world has Dollar reserves because that is what oil is traded in. If they suddenly dump them all for Euros, then the value drops to nothing.
