Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 07-27-08 WT Study (YOUNG SERVE)

    RULES & REGULATIONS

Q 2. Young people today face what secular influences concerning their future?

    2. You young ones in the Christian congregation, have you made a dedication to Jehovah? Many may find the choice to serve the true God difficult to make. Business leaders, educators, and sometimes family members and friends point youths toward materialistic goals. When young people pursue spiritual goals, the world often scorns them. But the fact is that serving the true God is the best way of life you can pursue. (Ps. 27:4) In this regard, consider three questions: Why should you serve God? How can you succeed in leading a life of dedication to God despite what others may say or do? What wonderful opportunities of sacred service can open up for you?

Business leaders, educators, family members, and friends do not tell young people that getting a good education leads to materialistic goals. They stress that getting a good education leads to better pay, better working conditions, better benefits, better future opportunities, less physical demanding jobs, earlier retirement, and job stability.

Never have I heard a teacher, parent, family member, business owner ever stress that the benefits of a good education lead to you towards the benefits of a nicer car, larger house, more vacations, and stocks and bonds.

What the WTS want are members who peddle their magazines in the name of God! Never forget that pioneering for the WTS corporation WILL HAVE YOU SUCCEED in these last days.

Thank you BLONDIE for your hard work!

Hi SirNose, the hypocrisy of the WTS when it comes to "higher" education, is that there are so many who are allowed to be exceptions. I know of many baptized children of jws who came down and went to school in my university town. I know of many elders who children went to the university. Then there were the "brothers" who went back to school to finish out their degree started before they were jws. Even the son of a now deceased GB member is pursuing a legal degree.

Thanks, White Dove. I post this more for the article itself; my comments are incidental. When I stopped posting and V was no longer able to post the article in my format, I received quite a few requests to start up again. I know some want to know what their family and friends will be dumping on them that Sunday.

Hey, insearchoftruth, you are an example of people who want to know what is in the WT article. Thanks for the support. Posting is less now than in the past, but I'm glad I can be of help.

Yes, heathen it was a lame article, I think the "two" punch comes next week. I used to think that parents could call the shots as to their children's baptism, but I have seen their wishes overridden several times. Imagine the elders driving a young underage couple to the justice of the peace to be married.........

Thanks, lancelink; you let me know that my efforts aren't totally wasted.

Hello, WTWizard, a large door that many elders have not gone through themselves. Except for an independently wealthy elder and 2 retired ones, I see few elders that regular pioneer. Have to keep up the financial status.

Thanks R&R. This was the same line I heard from the WTS when I was in high school. Evidently, education is only bad if it is a university one; several brothers are in union training for 4 to 5 years and nothing was said except that their skills will be useful in the quick build program......

    Good comments everyone.

    Love, Blondie

The PO gave a comment today about how some young brother decided to go to Bethel after getting a scholarship to some university on the east coast. This was the "right choice."

Fast forward to retirement age. How would be able to do that, after skipping out on all he could have earned in that time??

Because the company line is that the end is "close", SirNose. That was the line when I was in high school 40 years ago. My mother is glad that she has her retirement. She never says it would have been better to try and live off her husband's salary and regular pioneer. The ones making the recommendations to skip school are rarely the ones that have done so and are living with the results.

For every one who does as the PO says (supposedly), there are 4 who do not.

True indeed. So much hypocrisy in the comments today, only, the PO who did make the comment lives in the garage of his wife's parents. He really is walking the walk.

blondie, i did highlight the same issue you did regaurding Jesus being 30.

I circled the paragraph, showed my wife and told her that the WTBTS purposely omitted this.

As you know from my life, this is a sore subject due to my children growing.

she read my comment, and looked at me.

I think we see eye to ete on this...... time will tell

*yawn* *stretch* . Well, I'm finally back after my long break, and I just HAD to share my comments. Sorry I'm late.

Did the tentmakers (Acts 18:3), the textile makers (Acts 16:14-15), the centurion (Matthew 18:5-10), and the taxman (Luke 19:3-10) leave their jobs when they became Christians? Or did they rather behave as Christians in whatever career they had?
