HOW to PROVE the ORGANIZATION misled, lied, erred about 1975

The March 15, 1980 Watchtower article "Choosing the Best Way of Life" contains, on pages 17-18, a partial text of the talk. It said:

In modern times such eagerness, commendable in itself, has led to attempts at setting dates for the desired liberation from the suffering and troubles that are the lot of persons throughout the earth. With the appearance of the book Life Everlasting-in Freedom of the Sons of God, and its comments as to how appropriate it would be for the millennial reign of Christ to parallel the seventh millennium of man's existence, considerable expectation was aroused regarding the year 1975. There were statements made then, and thereafter, stressing that this was only a possibility. Unfortunately, however, along with such cautionary information, there were other statements published that implied that such realization of hopes by that year was more of a probability than a mere possibility. It is to be regretted that these latter statements apparently overshadowed the cautionary ones and contributed to a buildup of the expectation already initiated.

If you remove the pathetic excuse that they "desired liberation from suffering and trouble" and that was a noble motive--what do you have left?

    A STARK ADMISSION!

Compare the above with the quote below:

"Faith Builders at Work" in the December 1969 KM said:

If ever there was a need for faith building it is now. It makes one sorry to see so many people, young and old, with no faith in God and no hope for the future. Expectations built up by the false promises of secular and religious leaders have been postponed so many times that the hearts of the people in general are sick. But as the apostle Paul explained, "faith is not a possession of all people." It is, though, of Jehovah's Christian witnesses. We have confidence in the sure promises of the Word of God.--2 Thess. 3:2.

How much more evidence do you need that the Organization talks out of both sides of its collective mouth?

Jehovah’s word or message is true when it speaks about our entering into God’s rest now and remaining in it through the "great tribulation," after which Christ’s thousand-year reign will transform the earth into a paradise garden. God’s word is indeed ‘sharp like a two-edged sword.’ It will show what we really are, revealing what our thoughts and the intentions of our heart are. Are we serving Jehovah God because we love him, trust him and have full confidence in what he says? Or are we ‘becoming weary in well-doing,’ looking for a certain date primarily as bringing a relief to ourselves, with little concern for the lives of other people? (Gal. 6:9) Are we appreciative of all the good things we have had from Jehovah and from association with his people? Have not the things we have learned helped us in our family lives? Do we not love the many genuine friends we have now gained as a result of knowing the truth?—Mark 10:29, 30.

It may be that some who have been serving God have planned their lives according to a mistaken view of just what was to happen on a certain date or in a certain year. They may have, for this reason, put off or neglected things that they otherwise would have cared for. But they have missed the point of the Bible’s warnings concerning the end of this system of things, thinking that Bible chronology reveals the specific date.

I think, like pretty much any JW-related issue, the problem doesn't lie in lack of proof, but rather getting the average JW to examine that proof objectively. You could have a video of Fred Franz saying outright that armageddon is coming in 1975, but the JW would claim it was altered by apostates. It doesn't matter how much evidence exists, or how credible that evidence is, if they're not willing to examine it with an open mind.

Maybe they were trying to say were bullshitters just like the next guy, but are bullshit sold us a whole lot of literature though.

A truthful religion doesn't mislead or misguide its followers on any ground, but sweet bullshit can bring great profits.

There is a huge amount of hypocritical arrogance with JWS., it seems like whatever they write in their magazines is tantamount to actually

being the actual voice of God himself., this goes to show that an over abundance of judicial arrogance can be quite damaging toward people that absorb

    it and take it in.

What sickens me on their apology statement is they didn't state any sorrow or compassionate regret for the personal damage to individuals that they may have caused

to the greater body of jws.and we know there was a lot. I would not be surprised if every article and magazine that is set for printing and distribution gets proof read by lawyers

just to make sure they wouldn't be made libel or held accountable for their actions.

Its so common for religious cults as this to present a pretentious aura that they are indeed being spiritually guided in some form of way

and of course in no way formulated out of mens desires and intentions. A matter of fact they say that they are the only voice of God

on earth. Thats some arrogance when you think about it or maybe just good marketting , but hey isn't there always something up mens sleeves when they are playing God , you bet !

1.The Watchtower Society mentality is essentially Adventist. This means it is END OF THE WORLD oriented in psychology.

2.Chronology has ALWAYS obsessed the Society. With Fred Franz as the resident oracle it was always lurking.

    3. The language of Russell was specifically a "convinced" language which allowed no margin of doubt.

4.Rutherford indulged in certainty on date-setting too and it backfired. (I made an ass of myself.)

5.Nobody at the Society seems to ever worry that the date-setting and phoney predictions brings shame on JEHOVAH.

6.The collective reaction at the top always seems to be, "Oh well, Why did anybody believe our predictions in the first place?"

7.The moral of the story with Jehovah's Witnesses is: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

The rank and file are required to bear the full burden of blame as far as the Governing minds are concerned.
