Wow, I was six years old and it was early 1965 when my teenaged sister told me all about this new group called The Rolling Stones. We were all waiting in the car for Dad who was visiting mother in the hospital. We loved listening to the radio in that VW Microbus. The Beatles and Stones respresented the youth of the day and many parents were very threatened by their hair and clothing. And now these guys are either dead, as in Brian Jones, John Lennon and George Harrison.....or over 60.
I recall once seeing an artist's rendition of what he thought the Beatles would like in their 70's. It seemed light years away, the geriatric years of the 60's rock and rollers.
Makes me think of the Fleetwood Mac song: Landslide. I was 17 when it hit. Then I grew up. My children have grown up and now Julian is a 12 year old. "Children grow older and I'm getting older, too." Happy Birthday, Mick. You were a cutie, many mod times ago.
