You will love this from WOL- the (* KM has told all jw not to put up any sites since you don't know who you are dealing with THE SLAVE HAS SPOKEN but the rank and file jw doesn't want to be obedient to the Slave

So they struggle as to how to be disobedient to the Slave

Their comments reveal the sick mindset of the jw in action as they try to decide how to setup a forum

    Read and enjoy

    CONTEMPLATIONS FORUM:
Who qualifies for admission? Established Members of WOL. We have criteria that must be met in order to grant access, but for security reasons the only one that will be posted publicly is this:
You must have been a WOL member for a representative length of time so as to properly evaluate your posting quality..
What happens if I request access and I do not yet meet the other criteria for access? If that happens, please do not be disheartened. You will be wait-listed and once you do meet the criteria, access will be granted at that time.

l would as a relative newcomer to WOL like to register my agreement with the new addmittance procedure for joining WOL.
When l joined at the end of September, l was reuqired to fill out the new form. l thought at the time that even this was open to admitting undesirables.
For instance in a household where there is a disfellowshiped person, and also two or three more publishers it would be very easy for the disfellowshipped person to answer the questions as to what the current W.T study is, and also what items are on the service meeting, because there would be personal WT copies and also magazines for fiels service in the home, which such a person could find when inthe house alone.
So l welcome the new referral/recommendations system that is now in place.

May I say that hiding wol altogether from public view (which is a consideration at the moment) is something I would like to see.. I'd feel better knowing it was a private conversation b'twn friends - and read by only those who understand our spiritual perspective on matters.

I agree with Pumpkin but when you think about it, the people that we should hide from, the ones who can cause us harm; would have the knowledge to find us. I also know what you mean about having a private conversation among friends. I have to totally agree with that. So my question is, why isn't it and if it was would it cost money or something? Just wondering, not knocking the arrangement...

We can put them on, & here comes the down side - we can also take them off.
However, important matters are under constant scrutiny & discussion by the Admin. team.
All for the better, we hope.

I guess I have mixed emotions about the whole WOL being private also. Have you read the thread entitled "the silver lining" listed by Jazee Vee? This just shows that there are sincere people out there that lurk and find refreshment from what we write. Who knows how many more are out there that could be re-activated and/or motivated to show up at the KH for the first time by seeing that we have a lot of really interesting things in our lives other than just preaching and going to meetings. A lot of people are misinformed about our activities and this database can show them that we are not "weird" and have normal lives. I personally think that a lot of the problems can be avoided by having the referrals done which is a great idea.
Just my opinion - will let the Admins make the ultimate decision as they have the wealth of knowledge needed to make the best decision.

I wanted to add a little bit.
At assemblies and conventions that I have been to where my step father has been a attendant. If they find apostate literature on cars ect, they do not leave it there for the witnesses/publishers to do what they please with. They take it off the cars and destroy it. (trash, ect)
Also when we have a party, or get together at our house, we would not allow apostates to give things to our guests. Because we are responsible for their spiritual safety while they are in our home.
What I feel, is when we come to WOL, it is like visiting some ones home, the owner, admins and mods are responsible for your spiritual safety while you are visiting here. True most of us could care less what the apostates think. But, it is still our responsibility to try to protect our visitors from such propaganda. Especially the last propaganda where they tried to inpersonate a mod of wol, and some may have thought and did think he was one of our mods.
Its good to see that all practicle steps are being taken to keep WOL safe for all of Jehovah's people who might want to use it
    --------------------

    .
First of all, I think the "referral" requirement is excellent! And a great solution to weeding out those that are only here to try and stumble Jehovah's people that associate here.
There are both positives & negatives to "going private"....
We all know there are "unwanted lurkers" out there, and the fact that they can't see what is posted and try & twist stuff is a definitely plus, but on the flip side, do we really care what they think?
The point was made that it would be "read only by those who understand our spiritual perspective on matters." We have the TRUTH as found in the Bible, our spiritual perspective should be able to be stand on it's own. We have nothing to hide.
But of course on the flip side...I've gotten plenty of "junk mail" from opposers...so that's where my lack of decision comes in.
I'm just glad I'm not making the decisions. The Admins put a lot of work into the site, and it is very appreciated. Just thought I'd share my mixed thoughts...of course these thoughts have obviously been shaken and not stirred.

    Hello JT,
I was laughing when I read your post, because I tried to get in there a while back but stopped when the "third degree" was getting a little too hot. I could have told all kinds of lies and fooled them, but it was not worth the time or effort. I went into a chat like that once and was bored out of my mind. Everyone was so on guard. You just about had to talk baby talk in order not to get kicked out.
Don't let the average JW fool you. They talk more trash than we do on this board. The majority of the congregation that I am in will kick your A.. if you mess with them. I feel sorry for the people in the ministry that say the wrong thing to them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not like that, because it is not my nature to be mean to people, but if it was, you better not open your door if you saw me coming.
I know that it sound strange that a congregation of JWs would be like that openly, but it is true. When the Circuit Oveerseer comes he think that he is on vacation because he doesn't have to deal with any problems. He think that we are joking when we tell him the things that we do and say to people and to each other. Ha Ha!
I don't personally feel the pressure that many of you have been subjected to in the congregation that I am in. It is a very rare thing for a person to be disfellowshipped, and I cannot remember anyone ever disassociating himself. I have been in the congregation for over twenty years.
So when I run across the crazies that blame their atttitude on Jehovah I just let them see how JWs are really suppose to act, without being mean :)

I love this. For years, JW's have been pestering people in their homes
with unwanted visits. Now the tables have turned. Others are pestering
    them in their private lives.

This is beautiful. It's kind of like the JW's are putting up a "No solicitations"
sign on their house because they don't want unwanted visitors.

A while ago, Jay Leno did a great joke about JW's. He said that he had heard
that Jehovah's Witnesses don't go trick or treating on Halloween. He guessed
it was because they didn't want people coming to their doors, bothering them
    in their homes.

lol that is too funny...especially when you consider the ones they really need to hide this from are the GB who would condem them for even having this site!!!

The Watchtower will have to threaten to disfellowship them before they will take their web sites down.

The fact that they insist on disobeying the FDS on this issue shows that without the disfellowshipping tool, witnesses will basically do whatever the hell they want to do.

I find their site very refreshing lol, that and greatcrowd are great places to send normal people,
the fact they have closed areas is a witness and a half,
If they go totally private normal people will certainly draw their own conclusions from that too
    nelly

you do realise that youre now going to send them into a frenzy of
persecution and paranoia now shame on younot that theyd dream of lurking over here lol

I notice that the child beaten to death was one article that didnt make their news section whereas quite a few other news articles from here apear to have made their way into wol and greatcrowd

I've got a good idea for a constructive chain letter: it starts with one of us emailing all the names and addresses of witnesses we know onto 5 other posters. these add their names and addresses and mail them onto 5 more, and add the senders name to the senders in the cc section. This way all senders will receive copies of an ever growing mailing list which with 5 names and addresses each would be ... er (I can't work it out) several thousand after a few increments.
Then we have a mailing list to send witnesses some of our research and as we would all have the mailing list, they would get a lot of spiritual food.

p.s. can anyone work the sum out?

Anyone who has to convince others that he is "normal" is certainly
    not "normal".

"A lot of people are misinformed about our activities and this database can show them that we are not "weird" and have normal lives."

    "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

I had the exact same reaction! Sad thing is I recall people trying to do stuff to 'prove' how normal we were to new ones, studies, etc. Proves "Anyone who has to convince others that he is "normal" is certainly not "normal""

"misinformed about our activities"?? And how would that be, are all those non-JWs trying to figure out what the JWs are doing? Such an over-inflated opinion of JW-hood. Truth is the average person could give a crap about what JWs are doing, except when they're waking them up from a Friday night hangover to offer the latest installment of 'good news'.
