He had other things to do with his life. After a number of posting in some intense evolution/creation debate threads he dropped off the radar. I know he was posting over at the Richard Dawkins message board for a while.

Yep.
My understanding is he's trying very hard to be an ex-ex-JW.
One of my favorite apostate memories is watching a very drunk Valis trying to give Alan a nipple twist who wanted no part of that. They damn near came to blows over it.

I'm not so sure that he was banned from JWD. I'd heard that before, but it wasn't true at the time. His last post was exactly a year ago this month.
I'm sure Alan is just busy with other things. I miss him, though.

Ooops, I stand corrected. He said some of the moderators did their work while drunk, and Simon did ban him a year ago.

I sure hope he's active in one or more of the spin-off boards. I really enjoyed his insights and his "battles" with Scholar, Vinny, et. al. were fun to watch.
