But, modern day JW's are all about removing anything fun from life, so they should consider it for this reason alone. One more fun thing bites the dust.

Everything has pagan origins.
Witnesses should live in caves and not speak to each other. Pagans used to talk, therefore, speech has pagan origins.

Carry out the "pagan origins" BS to its logical conclusion and JWs would not be able to drive a Mercury or wear a pair of Nikes, names of a Roman god and a Greek goddess, respectively.

I don't know about banning them because of pagan origins, but I do detect a level of paranoia with large gathering and the possibility that people will have a good time and get a little tipsy or drunk.
But what the heck, I went to a large 'worldly' wedding just last week and there was no goings on that I wouldn't have expected a JW wedding.
JW's on the whole are just kill joys. -

The quandary Jws face - and conveniently ignore - is that the world is stuffed full of pagan practices. They aim their spiritual guns at the obvious ones whilst ignoring others. The wedding ring is of pagan origin. early Christians never used them although they were commonly used by the Romans.

Given that JWs do not allow rice-throwing and wedding toasts because of their "Pagan" origins, why should they allow same-color bridesmaid dresses and wedding kisses? Should they just outlaw wedding receptions altogether?
