Okay, then what is the 'biblical term' of hate?

Hate is hate to me. Love is love. What bothers me is this statement SHOULD read, that we should hate badness, but not the person. In fact HATE shouldn't even exist in the publications because Jehovah is not a God of hate, but a God of love.

    GRRRRR!!!

    LESTERD posted:

These were not people who had in some way merely offended David personally. They had misrepresented God, taking up his name in a worthless way. (Exodus 20:7) Dishonestly, they professed to serve him, but they were using his name to promote their own schemes. David had no love for those who chose to be God’s adversaries.

WTF? seriously! isn't that what the witnesses do?

I'll try to remember to scan a large copy of it when I get home tonight.

Thanks for all your efforts. I don't need a scanned copy of it, as I can read the article for myself from lesterds post.

Thank you though, I may need more sometime!

The Watchtower excerpt demonstrates that it is possible to quote almost anything from the Bible to justify cruelty against others. After all, if the Hebrew Scriptures sanction genocide (e.g., God's people were to obliterate entire peoples from the promised land), you'll find a hate-ridden text for almost any purpose at all. Barbaric thinking leads to barbaric actions.

Here it is.....I did a search on the WT CDROM for the phrase you asked for, but there was no match. Paragraph 15 here uses the words "hate", "hatred" "loathing" "enemy" "abhorrence" when speaking of anyone who questions the Borganization. I love it that they automatically assume that because someone comes to realize that the WTB&TS is not 'the Truth", that that person automatically hates Jehovah, Jesus and anything else to do with Christianity. Isn't there a scripture that talks about "presumptuousness"???

THIS is why I am so sad to see JWD go away. I have gotten so many responses and 3 scanned articles of this. AMAZING. THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

Hate like I said, is not something God is, so why would they publish that. Mary, thank you for your kind efforts of getting me this article.

I'm halfway on my letter to my mom with quotes from WT's and some stuff you find online is crap, and untrue. I just like to verify when someone says it is from a WT.

    You are all the best!

Wow, that article is sick. Even Jesus told everyone to love their enemies.

I find paragraph 14 very interesting as well...this paragraph should come in handy for when a JW tries to deny that the official doctrine is that all non-believers will die for not being associated with the organization...

14 There are billions of people who do not know Jehovah. Many of them in ignorance practice things that God's Word shows to be wicked. If they persist in this course, they will be among those who perish duing the great tribulation.

A JW might say, "it says the wicked will perish..." but notice the exact quote; "...they will be among those who perish...". So who else perishes along with the wicked?
