Oh yes, the FBI had a thick file on Mr. Rutherford, and one of our fellow JWDers obtained a copy of the materials. One highlight is that on March 28, 1941, J. Edgar Hoover wrote a memo to the director of the Special Defense Unit and recommended that Rutherford be "considered for custodial detention in the case of national emergency." Fortunately for him, he died in January 1942 so internment camps did not lie in his future.
Did the F.B.I. ever Investigate the Watchtower or any of it's leaders?
