The latest info about Danish Movie, "Worlds Apart"

  I received the following email today from the media representative of the film in Denmark:

  Dear Barbara,

  The producer just informed me, that the film is unfortunately not yet available as a region 1 coded dvd.

  The film can be purchased from European sites such as cdwow.com but only as region 2. To be able to play this in the U.S. you must have a multi region (‘region free’) dvd player and a television capable of handling PAL signal.
  
  This is, at the moment, the only way the film is available. The film is, however, sold for US distribution but a release date has not yet been set.

  I will keep you informed about the US distribution.

  Can you play a region 2 DVD on a computer that has a DVD-player? I thought computer DVD's are able to handle all regions...?

  PAL is easily converted to the U.S. system. Check with your local photo store that copies old VHS tapes etc. We did it for years for consumers but no longer do so.

  Jeff, if you type the words, "Worlds Apart" in the Search mechanism you will see the last fifty posts about this excellent Danish film which features a JW girl falling in love with a non-Witness which leads to her disfellowshipping for immorality. (It is based upon a true story.) The film is being considered for a foreign film Oscar next February. It has won awards at two film festivals and over 350,000 Danish people went to the movies to see it. The DVD for the US will have English sub-titles.

  Just finished watching this on my Region 1 dvd player. It has English audio and English subtitles. Very powerful film! Might get some JWs to start thinking for themselves.
