Question on two types of JWs in the earthly New System

    A friend writes:

As a Witness, I often wondered why the Society spent so much time “proving” that Jehovah disposed of Jesus’ physical body. Now I know why. Who would choose the earthly hope of being confined to a purely physical body on this tiny earth for eternity when we and our loved ones can be like Christ, enjoying eternity in both a new heaven and a new earth, where the physical and the spiritual will be connected in a way that is beyond our imagination? And compared with the biblical hope, who would choose to live on a paradise earth where our pleasure in our physical bodies will be dependent upon the luck of the draw in this unfair world? In Watchtower doctrine, only those fortunate enough to survive Armageddon will get to be married, enjoy sex, and have children. The unlucky ones who, through no fault of their own, happened to die of cancer or get killed by a drunk driver will be resurrected with fleshly physical bodies, but will be destined to watch from the sidelines as only the survivors of Armageddon enjoy the above-mentioned earthly pleasures.

I wasn't sure if the Society had anything recent to say about the "2-classes" of New Paradise persons. One can stay married, one cannot remarry, etc. Has there been any comments on this at all in recent years?

That was how I calculated that, no matter what the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger said otherwise, Armageddon would not happen as long as I was alive. Whether it be an early death (not likely) or long delays so Armageddon would stall until 2060 or 2070 (or even later), it was not appealing to me.

Combined with all the efforts both Jehovah and the congregation hounders put in to keep me celibate and exploit it, it was all but assured that this would be yet another loophole to prevent that need from ever being satisfied. That all but destroyed my view of surviving Armageddon, even if that meant it would wait until the 22nd century or even later. And there was no appeal to living forever, celibate, watching everyone else enjoying it (hell, I can do that even now).

As for the specious logic of the earth being too crowded, suppose I were to find the science to open up all 26 dimensions. And then start creating new ones that were not there. I wonder how long it would take to completely fill a googolplex of dimensions--while I am not having sex, I continually create new dimensions through science that today is not even theory. I wonder how God would feel if, after commanding man to fill the space, I continually create infinitely much more space to fill.

Randy, the WTS dances around the issue here:

*** w05 5/1 p. 22 par. 20 The Resurrection Hope—What Does It Mean for You? ***Our discussion of the resurrection leaves some questions unanswered. How will Jehovah arrange matters for those who were married when they died? (Luke 20:34, 35) Will resurrections take place in the area where people died? Will the resurrected come back to life close to their families? A host of other questions about the arrangements for the resurrection remain. Nevertheless, we have to keep in mind the words of Jeremiah: "Good is Jehovah to the one hoping in him, to the soul that keeps seeking for him. Good it is that one should wait, even silently, for the salvation of Jehovah." (Lamentations 3:25, 26) In Jehovah’s due time, all will be revealed to our fullest satisfaction. Why can we be sure of this?

This always made me think, what about those who were resurrected by Elijah, Elisha, Jesus and his disciples? Did they live out their lives separately from the spouses on earth, did they never marry if they were single? What about Lazarus, Tabitha, Eutychus.

*** w73 4/15 pp. 247-248 Why You Can Believe in a Resurrection ***He empowered some of his devoted servants to perform actual resurrections. The prophet Elijah resurrected the only son of a widow at Zarephath. (1 Ki. 17:21-23) His successor the prophet Elisha raised the only son of a prominent, hospitable woman at Shunem. (2 Ki. 4:8, 32-37) Jesus Christ resurrected the daughter of Jairus, a presiding officer of a synagogue; the only son of a widow at Nain, and his dear friend Lazarus, who had been dead four days. (Mark 5:22, 35, 41-43; Luke 7:11-17; John 11:38-45) At Joppa, the apostle Peter raised Dorcas (Tabitha) from the dead. (Acts 9:36-42) And the apostle Paul resurrected Eutychus after a fatal accident.—Acts 20:7-12.

I have myself only heard of the 2 classes mentioned as one with heavenly hope and those with earthly hope, beyond that nothing about those on earth themselves been split up into classes, I know that there is a another 1000 years mentioned when satan gets released again to test those brought back to life on earth who never had a chance to know God.

here's an extract of how they describe it on there website no mention of 2 earthly classes that I can find.

Under the rule of Jesus Christ and his heavenly corulers, peace and happiness will prevail in all the earth. ( Psalm 37:9-11 ) Those in God's memory will be resurrected and will enjoy perfect health. ( Acts 24:15 ) By their faithfulness to God, obedient mankind will be granted what our original parents lost—everlasting life in human perfection on a paradise earth.— Revelation 21:3, 4 .

In the Bible book of Isaiah, we get a preview of what life will be like in the Paradise earth. No inhabitant of Paradise will say, "I am sick." ( Isaiah 33:24 ) Animals will pose no danger to man. ( Isaiah 11:6-9 ) People will build beautiful homes and inhabit them and will plant crops and eat to satisfaction. ( Isaiah 65:21-25 ) Moreover, God "will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces."— Isaiah 25:8 .

    hi reniaa.

the "classes" described here are not typically described as such in WTS literature. however they do exist. I can't quote reference like some here, but in my youth I recall the description of the resurrected as being like angels neither marrying nor being given in marriage. this was quoting Jesus' words related to questions around a man who was married several times.

so the WTS taught (and local elders) that those who are resurrected would be celibate eternally. not very fun in my opinion.

this all underscores the WTS history of having an answer for everything -- even the time of the end -- despite scriptural counsel to the contrary .

what is really wrong with saying "we just don't know"?

The funny thing is: the bible does not promote the two-tiered class or hope for Christians. There's absolutely no mention of some Christians being delegated to spend eternity on earth along with people like Abraham Isaac and Jacob, simply for being born in the wrong place at the wrong time, while goons like Rutherfraud, Freddie Franz, Knorr and Ted Jackass Jaracz get to 'reign with Christ' for being born at the right place at the right time.

Only in Dub-dumb land could such a whacked out idea seem 'normal'.

I was also bothered by the thought there would be two classes of people in the earthly new system. There would be those that 'do' and those that 'don't or can't'. And this would be because of the luck of the draw. It would be simply because they were born and died at a certain time in history.

This doesn't sound like the makings of an equal or peaceful society. What would happen if one of the ones who 'does' develops a liking for one of the ones who 'can't'?

In so many ways, their 'new system' sounds like a disaster in the making to me and it hasn't even happened. It is just a theory but it still scares me.

    Confine, in the dictionary means:

to close within bounds, limit or hold back from movement

Within the context of confinement in the human sense, "within bounds" and "movement" are relative terms--depending on the extent of the boundaries and the length of time the movement is restricted.

The JW scenario of eternity on earth sounds like a prison to me.

I don't know, but to me is sounds like Jesus was really only talking about a Heavenly resurrection. That's why he said the resurrected are like angels neither marrying nor being given in marriage.
