I'm glad you guys have gotten the same vibe. To me it seemed clearly intended to let everyone know ahead of time that they should think long and hard before having the guts to go for that wine and cracker.

What is Truth? - Haha, I'm familiar with that sort of multitasking. But on this new congregation I've been for the past 3 years, I don't have any "privileges", so most of the time I sleep during meetings. And I'm not kidding. It's proper and quite obvious sleep. I do get dirty looks, but who cares really?

What would make someone ineligible to partake?

Must be baptized as a jw and not da'd or df'd.

Can someone under restrictions be barred? Restrictions are a WTS construct. Reproved and jws under restriction can still go door to door...

So if not sanctioned in some way that puts the individual outside the congregation, individuals can partake. I have seen very few elders challenge someone on their worthiness but others may have. Mostly if they are "judged" unworthy, they just aren't counted in the number sent to headquarters.

What is the penalty for partaking if you're not eligible?
The problem wouldn't so much be that you partook. The problem would come in if you tried to provide a scriptural reason for partaking such as, 'Well, that's what Jesus said to do.' Or even worse, 'I think all Christians are supposed to partake.' An example of their lying fraud is the last sentence of paragraph 5:
Gratitude to God and his Son should move us to be present at the commemoration of Jesus’ death, thus obeying the command: “Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”—1 Cor. 11:23-25.
In the paragraph, "Keep doing this . . ." means "to be present." But they strategically left out verse 26 which explains what "keep doing this . . ." means:
(1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NWT) . . .For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night on which he was going to be betrayed took a loaf, 24 and after giving thanks, he broke it and said: “This means my body, which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did the same with the cup also, after they had the evening meal, saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he comes.

And yet there was a whole paragraph about how anointed can sin, yet still be worthy of their heavenly calling if they repent!

    stupid reasoning!

The memorial outline being changed was the first overt act of discouragement that I can remember.

AnointedJW.org had been hammering them with letters for about a year before the memorial change. Was there a correlation? Maybe. The passage of time must be alerting the most obtuse of dubs to the fact that NOTHING is happening.

I just cannot imagine believing anything the WTBTS has to say.

All of us non-DF'd "apostates" should show up and partake just to drive them crazy!

    Nah, just kidding!

Thank you, I have read the article. I see they provide the same arguments, as always. But I have a simple one to destroy their theology: If anyone invites me for dinner just to observe and not to eat, I would say : "Is this a joke?", so "don't invite again".

Is this really anything new- in 40 years of attending the Memorial- haven't they been saying the same thing in spending more than half of the talk on the clear distinction between partakers and non?

    Nothing to see here............move on!!

I'm not kidding, we should attend and leave the plates and wine glasses empty for the rest of the audience to pass along.
