I agree...Way faster than FireFox or IE...so far.
I wonder if Google is pre caching the pages in the background?
Even though it is beta I will give it a good try.

The rendering engine is the same as Safari / iPhone (WebKit) but they have developed their own V8 Javascript Engine which is apparently twice (?) as fast as any of the others. With modern Web 2.0 apps JavaScript plays an important role so it will affect performance.

Yep - this is my first post with Chrome. It seems to run super fast! Maybe this is the first browser fast enough for JW's to use to keep up with the GB's New Light changes..... Pope

I'm missing Firefox 3.0's "Smart Bar" though. I love that feature! I hope that they incorporate something like that into Chrome.

I'm on it now. It feels a tad odd, I'm one who never liked the firefox "look", I was just too used to IE. However, this is very fast and once I have time to customize it I'm sure it will be great. I already have one problem- I can't find the spell checker. It is nowhere that I can see. They say it is built in I see nothing.

Hi.
I installed it and like it.
I'm sending this from Chrome.
I agree that it's really, noticeably faster than IE or Firefox...
it does have some quirks. But it's in beta. I'm sure there'll
be some refinements and the other browsers will learn from it.
BTW it was announced today on NPR as another way Google is
trying to compete with Windows and make the browser an
applications' platform.

Does it only work with Vista? I was about to download it and saw that statement and forgot it. Will it support XP?

I changed my mind!
I am going to try it now.
I kicked Opera to the curb, and even though Firefox is main, right now, I will mess with Chrome.
