It is important however to remember that just because the drug companies are less than perfect (and occasionally truly reprehensible), it doesn't mean that the weaselly snake-oil salesmen who fleece the vulnerable and gullible selling nonsense remedies like baking soda are anything other than charlatans out to make a quick buck.

It is recommended that people with cancer, or who want to avoid cancer avoid acidic foods as sugar and acids are said to 'feed' cancer.

I know a man, our greengrocer who has had a blood cancer, (sorry, but don't know exact type but some kind of lymphoma) for the last forty years.

He eats every sort of vegetable, but no meat, cakes, sugars, and never ever Fruit as fruits are more acidic and hence 'bad' for you.

Derek, we're seeing an explosion in alternative treatments and supplements because drug companies can't control the internet in particular. As to the uses of asprin, please consider how drug companies created acetaminophen - a pain reliever that can kill some people by causing liver or kidney damage. And the advantage over asprin is???

And how does the "search" for a cancer cure compare to the profitable development of 'boner' pills? Like Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis?

And you can't be serious about aspirin, right? The problems with aspirin are that it upsets many people's stomachs (when compared to acetaminophen), as well as the dangers of Reye's Syndrome in kids.

Aspirin isn't exactly harmless. It can cause stomach and intestinal bleeding. As well, if you take small doses on a regular basis as a blood thinner against heart attack or stroke, if you get into an accident, or need surgery or a tooth extraction, you'll bleed like a pig. Probably bleed to death in surgery. You need to stop taking it at least 3 days before.

There are thousands of experiences of people who claim to have healed there Cancers with an Alkaline treatment/Diet. I think it's worthy of investigation. I looked up an Alkiline chart and Baking Soda is off the scale as a Alkiline! Even the head of Revlon claims to be cured....weightlifters, Policemen, housewives.....etc could they all be lying for a quick buck?

Now as to the 'conspiracy of medicine.'

Big pharm IS looking for a cancer cure. They are looking HARD! You know why? 1st these dr's and chemist want to help, they have devoted their lives to helping the public. 2nd the company that finds this grail will put EVERYONE ELSE OUT OF BUSINESS!

Think for just a minute. This is just like the big car companies not wanting a 300 mpg car... If toyota could come up with a way to make a 300 mpg car could they sell more of those cars than they could make? Would the list price for a pos sedan that would go for 12k that got 300 mpg be more like 80k? Would the line to get one be 5 YEARS long? Would you buy a ford or chevy or hyundai that got 24 if you could get a toyota that got 300?!

Same thing with aids and Cancer, yes there is money in treating the symptoms but jesus if you could CURE aids? How about 25k per shot and NO ONE ELSE HAS IT!

Most of these people are ethical, most of these people are just people, most of these chemist and dr's got into this business because they want to help the world. To assign bad motives to them 100% of the time is just wrong...

Or don't, just keep thinking that the world is out to get you! I might just buy stock in aluminium foil seems like the amount of people making hats is on the rise (at least around here!)
