Supposedly today in Sweden, some scientists are supposed to run some kind of experiment with a nuclear type collider, and they say there is a possibility that it could open up a black hole and destroy the earth. Does anyone here know what I am talking about?

I wouldn't worry about the black hole rumor. Though the collider itself is huge, the accelerated particles are miniscule. I think smashing atoms is a great idea, as it gives us a better understanding of how we are made. It's a matter of matter.
