I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced them. It would elevate the pio numbers. They love to report pios as 'full time ministers' to the press, when it is far from full-time to go ride around and eat donuts, drink coffee for 60 or 70 hours a month.

I wonder if the change is happening this service year though since it was not announced before September service year started.

    Is 50 the new number?

For this hour decrease to totally work for the bORG, they would have to see a 28.5% increase in signups for new pioneers. I doubt that is ever going to happen.

Maybe if the bORG started sending pio's fuel compensation checks they might get a 20% increase but that will still bring their total field circus hours down.

Also pio's don't really motivate many others to get out in the field because they're too busy with their own gangs of other pio's

Shoot. When I pioneered it was 100 hours per month. This was a "quota" was was not negotiable. Then again, I only put in 50 and lied about the rest. Now pioneers will only have to put in 25 and lie about the rest and their lie will be smaller than MY lie. I'm doomed for all that lying for all those years!

Shit. I get stuck in WT policy and cheat a bit and then decades later, other pioneers get stuck in a more lenient WT policy and they will probably cheat a bit, too. Problem is, my cheating was TWICE as bad as their cheating will be, so I am TWICE as likely to get screwed up by Watchtower God(tm) because Watchtower Executives changed the rules. As everyone knows, Jehovah is obliged to abide by Watchtower Rules and therefore I am really screwed now, even though I actually DID put in the same hours the pioneers will now have to put in and they will lie about half of them.

I wish Jehovah would just be consistent about the hours HE requires pioneers to put in and not change them all the time.

I mean the Apostles and disciples actually "counted" their time, didn't they? They had "field service" reports and were graded and judged based upon that paperwork, weren't they? They got one copy of the official Jesus-based magazine and then passed out another version for the householders which didn't contain "secret and confidential" instructions, didn't they?

This is all Bible Based(tm), or so I've been told.

That's possible. When the hours were reduced from 90 to 70 it was effective on Jan 1st and then they provided the new yearly goal to be reached by August. I believe then the announcement was made in mid\late December.
