No matter what idiocy I read here on JWD......I only know one thing.

The Christians win in the end.

Me thinks you better hope you are right and we are wrong.....or you got a rude awakening.

If we Christians are wrong.......then there is nothing after the fact and we are just plain old dead. We haven't lost anything!

Threats, schmetz. The idea is that belief changes something, it flips a little switch somewhere in god's or jesus's head, and they point a lever to heaven or hell. Like, if you hold your head a certain way and you can control the motion of the moon, or earth, or the flow of a river. It's the highest order magic, really. Faith let's you think that you control god or jesus in what they do to you. As usual to life, after death, you will only have control of your own entity, not some other entity. What will be at the point of death will be, irrespective of your belief/faith. Do you even have control of your own mind in the here and now?

Maybe it's just me -- does anyone else think making decisions based on "what's the least dire outcome if I'm wrong" is not the best way to live? And I still have to think God (assuming he exists and is as most Christians paint him) wouldn't be pleased with such cynicism.

Lisa ann, Thank you for your input. I try to take care not to "push" my beliefs on anyone else. Just a side note I thought you might find intresting though: I work in a hospital. Over the years I have personally wittnessed several patients brought back to life after losing their vital signs. I would have marked their experiences up to psycology if it weren't for one man who had the state of mind to bring back proof. While "out of his body" he memorized the information (manufacturer, serial number, model number,and the fact it was dusty) on the top of the surgical light in the operating room. I had to get a ladder to confirm what he told me. He was right in every detail. He also had another experiance of a religious nature that I couldn't confirm. Now I know ,to you, this is just another story but I thought you should no why I believe we continue after.
