I used to see couples and families do it in the Kingdom Hall.
Also have seen Christians do it in church and at meals.
Whats so weird about it?

My ex and I used to hold hands while praying. Then I'd start doing suggestive things with my hands just to annoy her.

I knew a few families that would hold hands during prayer...and anyone visiting was expected to join the ritual. I found it a bit, er, um, cultish, even then. It kind of reminded me of a seance. I had to chuckle one time when a friend and I were visiting a family who did that and he kept bumping the table during the prayer. It didn't faze them...they didn't get it, but I found it amusing.
Worse though, were the families that would hold hands and the father would pray aloud at the table in a restaurant. That was plain freaky.
Yes I remember my dad used to make a big deal about praying at restaurants. It always imbarest me.
All of my family holds hands during prayer........regardless of denomination.
Maybe it is just a southern thing, because almost every family I know does it too.
