I want to see this movie, but I'll have to drive 100 miles to Tulsa to the closest theater showing. Sometimes it sucks living in the bible belt!

Ya I want to see this one to...I highly doubt it will come anywhere near me in a theatre. Its funny how all the theatres around here went out of their way to all show the Mel Gibson film the passion of the Christ.
But I guess its not about equality on showing the films anymore but rather not to do anything that might upset the religous element around here with all their money that might quit supportig the theatre if it showed this film...(like that would happen and they would all stay home).

If you get to see it JD let know us what you thought of it.

Those who have seen the movie have left some interesting comments and reviews on the movie at this link:

I read one review. They said the movie addresses christianity, scientology, mormon, islam, and others"...so I don't know if the "others" are JW but if so, it seems really downplayed. I wonder if slant has to do with catering to heaviest population of faiths.

I'm going to try to squeeze time in my schedule next week to go and see it. Of course, I could wait for it to come out on video, but I'm anxious to see this one. If I do, I'll give a review. ;-)

I'm going to see it tonight. It's playing in several theatres in my town. Y'all can come along if you want.

My question is why didn't Bill go after some of the big guns of Christian thought? J.P. Moreland, Ravi Zacarias, Greg Koukl, William Lane Craig, Robert Morey, Lee Stroebel or even Hank Hannegraff. What's Bill afraid of?

I thoroughly enjoyed Religulous. So did my teenaged daughter. The theatre was packed with people of all ages, but I was impressed with the number of young people in attendance.

As to why Bill Maher didn't interview some of the "big guns of Christian thought", I'm guessing that he wasn't allowed the opportunity, just as he wasn't able to interview the Pope or the head of the LDS church. (I won't spoil things by saying how that was disclosed in the movie.)

Young folks dig Bill's irreverent humor. Also, many more young adults are openly declaring themselves free of religious influence. Here in Minnesota, the membership at campus atheist / secularist / humanist groups are at all-time highs.
