there was a color of paint that was used all over Brooklyn Bethel factories, furman, etc... called "Watchtower Cove Green".. I was working Paint/Scaffold as a temp back in the late 80s and heard this..seen the buckets of paint too.... (i was just painting primer and prepping)

I dont remember how it differed from the "cove green" that is otherwise available...but when I was a temp, I was told that they would just call in that color name or paint code (if they didnt make it themselves) and they got "Their" color. (kinda like "UPS Brown" and "Target Red"...very specific paint codes for those entities).

    Hillbilly:

as expained to me by Mark Lett who's son is Steve Lett (Gov Body) back in the 70s, it's all about life... green is life... black bibles like you see in church... all about death. Thats a paraphrase... but you get the drift. Bright festive colors to polarize the JW s from mainstream churches

I heard exactly the same thing. Bonnie

I think the color may have been chosen indicative of the time that it was printed, a good book with good things within it

containing hope , promise and maybe change.

It was the 60's and 70's man ....... FAR OUT

I agree with Blondie -- I think someone donated all that green stuff so they put it to use.

Guess the black was too Goth for them, lol. My daughter and I were both counseled for wearing black too often when we were in. I just told them I was a lost New Yorker. The joke went right over their heads.

Heh, "Babylon the Great" already beat them to flourescent colors for marketing Bibles. They have them in lots of flourescent colors-even flourescent camo.

Well, I don't know what UU is or whats that's for but I have heard phrase "Rainbow" used quite often in referrering to the coming religious transition.

Also, this "lime green version" seems to be appropriate as some bibles say the fourth horseman is pale green.
