What about when the chairman or school overseer stands right at the front edge of the platform and rocks band and forwards on the balls of his feet, song book held aloft not even needing to look at the words, singing right into the audience.

Sure sign of being super spiritual.

Oh yes, those kinds were prevelant in our congo. Elder's wives, visiting COs DOs, regular pioneers----they were above everyone because they knew the lyrics to almost every song in the songbook. While traveling to the assemblies on the bus, there was one pioneer who always broke out singing, and everyone just had to join in, you got dirty looks if you didn't.

Super spiritual people did that and spiritual slackers just mime the songs......"SIng to Jeeehovah for he has become highly exalted."

That is hilarious!! Yes, that was me, the elder's wife, the good example, holding my songbook up so that everyone could see me sing. Did you see me?

We had to know all the lyrics so that when we were put in prison, we could stay spiritually strong!!!!!

I really do love to sing, though. The songs were the high points to me. I liked it when the chairman would have men sing one verse, then women, etc. I liked songs with minor keys, like the resurrection one. Hated the one with succor-can't remember the name.

I didn't start songs on any busses, but would have been right there, that good example again.
