There is just so much that the book says, it gave me hope. I have been dead for a long time.

As far as Utopia, I do believe we can, as Galt, make this planet a better functioning place. but only what we can do as men........not what god will step in and hand us on a silver platter for being good boys and girls.

    Thanks John. ;-)

    Purps,

What do you mean who should "who should play the characters?" Sorry, I'm brain dead, just got home from work and running errands and destroying ants.

I agree some passages are really wordy. But some I read over and over and over again.

There are several discussion here on AS, one I think not too long ago started by Terry.

Nice to meet you...see you on FB!

I kept trying to make a movie...a mini series and who should play what characters.

While I was reading the book I kept thinking Gary Cooper for John Galt. But I'm thinking now maybe because he played the lead in the movie "The Fountainhead," the power of suggestion I guess. I know, not what you are looking for. Sorry.

I'll have to think about it.

The guys from Ocean 11 come to mind, with Johnny Depp and DeCaprio.....and wonder if Javier Bardem, maybe playing Francesco. I think a young Robert Redford would make for a good John Galt.

Can't think of anyone to play Dagney yet.

Brace yourself! Angelina Jolie is tipped for the part. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480239/

Read it when I was 19. It rocked my world. But not enough to get out of the JWs.

There are many things I enjoy about her work, and others I despise. I'm not a good enough debater to elaborate but plenty of others have. Just google "Objectivism".

Mine's definitely not a majority view, but impression of Atlas Shrugged is: overlong and overrated, with a distinctly midbrow radio serial quality to it.
