It seems like a long shot. Now, a world currency, that i could see. But, one bank for the whole world? We have one currency in canada, and still lots of different banks, and even some private check cashing institutions.

What the article mentions is overdue. A better guidance system is needed for the international money systems.

Daddy Bush has been working on a New World Order now with a thousand points of light. It seems a One World Bank would be keeping step with the present program.

As the brain dead Republicans say "Stay the Course".

As a newbie, I would think that one world bank leads into one world government, this is the mantra of the UN for quite some time, along with some of the US Presidents mentioning it many times in any given talk.... and seeing that the Un represents mostly nations who do not hold to democracy, if anyone thinks they have a hard life now, think of what will happen under a one ruled UN representation -- who do u think you would go to for medical, for example - someone in Switzerland and how long would it take to reach you...there is a lot more to this newspaper report - its all behind the scenes and this one world or new world order has been talked about by Iluminati and Masons and those who tend to keep heavy secrets for hundreds of years... this is not new but seems to be an outworking of plans laid long ago

Where would this bank be located?

Will they have drive thru convenience and suckers for the kids on Fridays?

Big question....what do you think the majority will do when banks are "closed for awhile" to implement changes? How will people react to this? Do you think they will be complacent and patient? And if not?

I think the bail out at the world level has nothing to do with any of us - we are already controlled by the men writing the checks at the very top and always have been. I maintain that this bailout will have any ultimate relief for workers at the bottom of the pile and by bottom, I mean the middle class worker. I can't see any way that the accumulated debt that is now more than 2x the whole world economic output can ever, ever be paid back, so in essence you are now in servitude till death. I believe that the only way things are going to get moving upward, is to put money in the hands of those at the bottom and let it trickle up. Interesting enough, this guy spouts (kind of) the same solution -

Keynesian plans for top-down creation of jobs by government deficit spending has never worked and has always ended in an attempt by the government to inflate its way out of debt. Everything being suggested by the Obama/McCain campaigns is based on the failed Keynesian formula.
An entirely new paradigm is needed. This can be provided through dividend-based economics like the Alaska Permanent Fund, the 2008 tax rebate stimulus, and the basic income guarantee (negative income tax) discussed during the 1960s and 1970s.
    Following is the "Cook Plan":
Non-taxable vouchers should be issued at the rate of $1,000 per month per adult and $500 per month per child which may be used for food, housing, fuel, communications media, utilities, and educational services provided at outlets within the U.S. Distribution of vouchers may be delegated to state and local governments.
Vouchers will be deposited by service providers and vendors only in a new network of local chartered savings banks-one for each county in the U.S. Deposits will be made to the bank in the county of the local point-of-sale.
Banks will lend locally at zero-percent interest using voucher deposits as capitalization. The banks may create loans at a 1:10 reserve ratio with borrowers paying administrative fees only. Borrowers must provide a 20% down payment as collateral or purchase default insurance at 2% of the loan principal.
Lending will be made only to business entities, including family or commercial farms, operating from an established location within the county.
This system will create a grassroots "bottom-up" economic infrastructure to parallel the "top-down" Federal Reserve System which is collapsing. Transfers between local savings banks and the banks of the Federal Reserve System will be denominated in U.S. dollars with vouchers redeemed within the banking system.
The system could be implemented within a matter of weeks through seed-money provided by the federal government. It could be replicated by any other nation.
It is requested that readers give this plan the widest possible distribution.

But what is the "catch" to get a voucher? What do you have to sign/promise/give? Who owns you?

Then the puppet masters would have their control centred in one bank ,,, cool!

Edit: I thought it was amazing when the sci-fi of A Clockwork Orange became reality .... this too reminds me of many sci-fi novels, but is even scarier!!!

SAMMIELEE- I don't feel comfortable at ALL with a " one world bank ". All it would do is empower the U.S. and huge corporations, I.E. the Bilderbergs, Rothschilds, & Rockefellers to continue world domination towards their goal of " one world government ". And I don't believe it would bode well for the REST of the world - the have nots. Which are most of us. Total control, total power and monopoly on the human race is NOT a good thing. Just my 2 cents
