The dreaded assembly experiences ....

Sitting through the items with experiences at the one day special assembly day last weekend reminded me just how dreadful having to handle experiences at the assemblies were. When I was an elder, I used to dread getting assembly assignments that included experiences; they were always so fake.

Nothing ever happened in our circuit that was ever noteworthy or outstanding, and you usually ended up re-hashing the same old stuff from years ago.

I guess it is the same the world over; despite all the effort of the preaching work, nothing much ever happens really.

That's when you get creative and twist the arms of the poor experience givers into stretching the truth, leaving out the damning parts and exagerating the pro-WT stuff.

I know a guy who dissected a fruit cake once . . . all he found was fruit and nuts.

My assembly experience, was real and heartfelt. I was in 6th or 7th grade, at the time of my first stage experience.

In 4th grade I used to preach to a friend as we walked home from school. Started a study with her. Her friend wanted a study also. So here I am, 4th grade, having 2 studies.

I was the talk of the congregation. WOO HOO!!! But WAIT!! there is more!!

The second studies mother was interested in what her daughter was learning. So I asked my favorite "sister" from the congregation to go see her. The "sister" started a study with her. The whole family, (lots of kids) came into the truth.

The sister and the new convert, regular pioneered together for years together. And together brought in several others.

I want to apologize to all involved. I was wrong, and should be punished.

horrible life - that was an excellent experience. If you were still in I bet they would still be re-hashing that even years later.

The most cringeworthy are the made up ones, that you can tell came to nothing. Also squirm -in -your -seat embarrasing was the lack of interviewing skills of most who handled the item, usually an upcoming brown nose, they often just repeated what the interviewee had just said before getting on,just to fill the time I suppose.

Just wait until they start producing those things on memory sticks like they do the Kingdumb Maladies on CDs now. They can then totally make up crap that is totally wrong, and even slander outside organizations and make them think they are getting people in that had been elsewhere and that it was the best thing that ever happened to them, when in fact it was the worst.

Aside that, most of the experiences I have heard were the stock ones about quitting work and pio-sneering or pio-sneering in an iron lung. I do remember the slimebag that dragged me in having an experience of having dragged 6 people into the cancer (I was one of them). He did that by being excessively controlling, not giving anyone the option of not doing something. True, he did drag 6 people in. However, at least one (myself) has already turned apostate. And it was a complete waste of time for all involved. I only wish I would have gotten my "secret" society letter back then--that way he would only have been able to claim 5 without faking one or more of them.

So sister penniless, sick all the time, tell us how do you manage to make all the meetings and pioneer?

So brother abuser, tell us how did you manage to overcome your alcoholism, gambling, masterbating, and wife beating?

So tell us little Johnnie, how do you manage to put in all those hours with school and all that homework you have to do and still prepare for the meetings?

So tell us brother and sister elderly how do you remain faithful to the no blood doctrine when the doctors tell you that you will die if you don't get a blood transfusion?

Experiences over the years dealth with the above format.

And so friends, if alligators and snakes and crocodiles and all kinds of difficulties can't stop our brothers and sisters from making the meetings, pioneering, standing fast etc.etc.etc.

How are we doing? Lets have a big hand for our dear ones.
