Funny how he at first took offence at the article, then used offensive cow references from the ot to make the wt look better. He shouldn't be offended at you, he should realize the offensive nature of the old testement. That 2500 yr old document is the source of much badness in the western world.

I agree. It's very sad. The saddest thing of all is that he is so on edge from years of ingrained WTBS that he can't even read an article that they wrote without feeling the need to defend it.
If that's not a goddamn clue, I don't know what is.
It is very scary to sit here in California and think of my parents feelings about me now.
I listened to him and ascribed to that bullshit for 30 years. And now, I can't talk about it at all unless I'm talking about those crackheads (otherwise known as the Governing Body) in glowing terms.
The scary part for them is, they are now in their late 50's. They have wasted their whole adulthood and all of their kids lives in this cult. And NONE of us kids believe it anymore.
Instead of them being able to reason on that, they hit the panic button and chalk it all up to Satan having 'gotten ahold of us.'
Utterly, miserably overwhelmingly SAD.

I feel like such a trouble maker now.
Sorry it didn't sit well with your dad.
What gets me, is he says that the article has nothing incorrect in it.
That's really sad.
This article is chock full of things that are incorrect.One huge myth that this article promotes is that women are only interested in sex when they are ready to conceive.

The thing that is really sad is that your Dad, as well as most JWs, have lost the ability to laugh. For the "happiest people on Earth" they certainly don't have much of a sense of humor.
It's also sad that he is so willing and ready to defend such demeaning comments just because they issued forth from the great font of WT wisdom.
