How will the Society prepare JWs when they call on inactive apostates?

A critical mass of exJWs is gradually being reached. Perhaps eventually, there might be several in each town.

Inevitably, faithful witnesses will call on these ones, unsuspecting of who they are, what they believe and such prepared demonstration of "how to place the magazines" will not go down well.

Reading the many experiences here, for the most part, many exJWs try to plant a seed in the mind of the Witnesses.

This seed may be discussed with other members of the car group. The conversation may go nowhere, but a seed has been planted and someone or something will keep on making it grow.

Thus spread the seeds of doubt and discontent.

It's the converted preaching to the unconverted who in turn witness to the converted.

The Society have a real mess on their hands - exJWs are no longer an unknown quantity, a fringe element. They are growing in number and the internet allows them to organise campaigns, contact the media and spread awareness of Watchtower untruths.

Perhaps a new tract is in order?

First, how would they know they were apostate unless a) their congregation had identified them as such, b) the person identified themselves as such (and why would they do that?) or c) the jw decides they are apostate by what they say. The identification mark the WTS has given is if someone talks against the WTS.

BTW, being inactive does not make someone an apostate, not officially.

    Blondie,

The JWs need not know if anyone is an apostate - it's the exJWs that want to make them think or have doubts, without identifying themselves as inactive that the Watchtower is probably afraid of.

I think the WTS is more concerned about folks in their own midst not fully supporting their directives (i.e. apostasy). Look at the number of elder leaks to this board and others. Look at the number who fake time. The apathy among many congregations. Those folks can do way more damage than occasionally running into someone in service. I often wonder if the WTS will do something so outrageous that there will be a major schism. 2 or 3 million extremely loyal followers are much better than 7 million half hearted ones.

From my own recent experience with JWs calling (and what others have reported here) they have already received some training to avoid any discussion that is critical of the WTS. I tried the tactic of asking an "innocent" question, "What happened to the 1914 generation teaching?" This was all it took and the older sister started to blather about new light and at the same time putting her Bible back in her bag and they were out of there.

I ran into a close JW friend, almost like my sister...at the local convenience store a week ago...she was with family and you could tell they were in field service and stopping to pick up coffee....she hugged me and promised to call me back.... but she seemed more than a bit nervous and way to eager to leave me....

she finally called me back today.... a week later....unusual for her to wait that long..... We usually get together once a month to catch up.... but it has been nearly 2 months. part of it has been her family craziness going on.... but she called me today....and I started to say something about JW and she said "{snakes}, dont talk about my religion..we can talk about anything else" I started to say something else and she cut me off.... so that is that....she knows my stand... and apparently has been talking to my mom....

my mom has been also taking the same stand...not talking about her field service expeiences ....I asked her one night about the tract campaign and mom said "dont start with me".... I was genuinely interested since that is her whole life.... so pretty soon she has nothing to talk about on her end... i tell her about school, work and neighbor trouble.... but she has little to contribute once she decided not to talk to me about dub stuff...

so that is how I believe the dubs are doing it.... they are just shutting down in the face of such discussions.... sad really.

Not in a religion that is so besotted with numbers and views that as evidence of God's blessing. Half of the numbers leaving would be a major blow.

Besides, they really don't seem to care whether people are genuine as long as their ass is in a chair 3 (soon to be 2) times a week and they put a number on a piece of paper at the end of each month.

I bet they are going to have every discussion leading a particular way, and will do anything to force it there. They already do that with closed lines of reasoning that cannot possibly lead to the actual truth, better known as circular reasoning and twisted definitions of words that make it impossible for them to accept outside viewpoints.

I agree with the foregoing comments, but in the past the WT has tried to ward off the effects of 'postate statements,i,e The Proclaimers book, which is nothing but a thinly veiled,if pathetic and lying, reply to accusations rightly made in the past.

I wonder if they may produce something to counteract all the info onthe Web?

I bet it will be laughable if they do!
