Love does not equal intentional ignoring. Plain and simple.

In the 60,s and 70,s you did not hear a lot of shunning..In fact I personally did not know anyone that was shun..Today there are many...AS a result of that policy what is the outcome..If you ask someone that is not a JW what they think of JW,s, the first commit that come out their mouth , they break up families..This is what JW,s are known for...

I know this guy who was involved in looking at pornograpy.
He went to the elders for help. They told him to do more of the JW
routine and pray and YADDA YADDA YADDA.Time passes. They ask him if he is over his problem. "Yes, I am,"
he tells them. Later, he goes and confesses that he is not over the
problem and still needs their help. He confesses that he lied when
they asked if he were over the problem. They DF'ed him for lying. "That will help you see Jehovah's love."
He got reinstated eventually, after suffering the shunning. He felt that
that was Jehovah's love to have the JW's shun him so he could see
the error of his ways. I even offered to continue contact with him, but
he said no, he wanted nothing to interfere with getting reinstated. That's an example of why they DF people and their minds think it's a
good thing. Because there are some JW's who buy into it. I have even
heard of DF'ed ones avoiding talking to DF'ed ones. Some tell people
they are DF'ed "so you should not talk to me." SICK SICK SICK. -

onthewayout...I am df'd and I was told you can't hang out with or talk to other df'd jw's. I don't understand why that matters to the elders if you talk to another df'd jw...they just want to control you even when they kick you out.

See how bizarre they are? You are considered an unrepentant sinner.
You will not repent or stop sinning. It may be fornication or apostasy or
drunkenness or the dreaded association with a DF'ed person while you
were active."We are kicking you out for not repenting. While you are out, don't break
this OTHER rule." What a joke. -

If you are having a good time hanging out with other df'd people, enjoying yourself, then you won't be weeping and knashing your teeth or thinking about how deserving of death you are whilst you try desperately to grovel your way back in! Then you make the whole df'ing process look like a silly waste of time (which it is). Also, other weak ones might see you having fun and decide to join you!

The friend I mentioned at the outset who is DAd, well, the local elders know he still has some contact with 'fringe' witnesses who are 'questioning' the Org's teachings. Believe it or not, an elder has advised him to stay away from these ones. Why? Because they are opposers
He's DAd and the elders are still trying to control him. -

Its purely about information control. That is why before they shun you, you should send a letter to everyone in your congregation (no matter what "standing" they are in) explaining to them what your issues are with the WT, this is especially true if you know you will be labled as apostate.
Thats what I did. And thankfully, I kept 2 people who were df'd but trying to get back in.......to change their minds and stay out. Lilly
