Also, the European Union seems to have similar ideals to that of the WTS;
Wait.. what?
Why is it that I now LIKE going through the watchtower study?

Thank you Blondie. I especially enjoyed seeing paragraph six being compared side by side with the excerpt from Steve Hassan's book. Amazing! Loading of the language is all part of the thought stopping process used by the WBTS. They really are masters at it.
BTTT!
What a convoluted metaphor! And I'm good at metaphors. This one almost went right over my head ... sounded more like a lesson in improving your oral reading skills.
memorizing 12 tribes = useless busy work
memorizing calculations to 1914 = more valuable, but impossible
memorizing all the JW rules = essential if you wanna CYA (cover your a**)!
memorizing doctrine & scripture about Christ's love and grace = priceless!
Thanks Blondie & commenters,
One of the first problems with this article is the theme text and the "pure language" rendering. The Hebrew words are "clean lip", or as in other translations "purify the lips". The NWT uses this expression "pure language" only once. According to WT Lib 2007, the other recent Watch Tower Corporation publications use this expression 555 times... yes, 555 times. If the notion of some "pure language" was such a big deal, you think Jesus would have mentioned it. Oh, that's right, they don't talk about Jesus.
And they don't even address in this article the fact the the "WTBTS pure language" keeps changing. Although the Botchtower has been published for some 120 years, the teachings have changed dramatically. In the first edition, Chuck Rustle taught that Adam and Eve would be redeemed and resurrected because of Jesus' ransom sacrifice. Well now, that's a different language!
I think para. 5 shows the most glaring error:
Quote
5. The pure language is the truth about Jehovah God and his purposes as found in his Word, the Bible. That "language" includes a correct understanding of the truth about God's Kingdom and how it will sanctify Jehovah's name, vindicate his sovereignty, and bring eternal blessings to faithful mankind. What results from this change of Language"! We are told that people will "call upon the name ofJehovah" and will "serve him shoulder to shoulder." Unlike the events of Babel, this change to the pure language has resulted in praise to Jehovah's name and unity for his people.
Not a single scriptural reference there. The whole application is completely contrived.
Para. 6 needs some modification:
More is required than just learning a few basic Bible teachings. One must also ignore common facts, disregard previous teachings, and gloss over current gross errors. Mastering this new language involves modifying distorting our thinking and transforming warping our minds.
Para. 10 also needs some changing:
10. Imitate fluent speakers. Students of a new language Parrots are encouraged not only to listen carefully but also to try to imitate, or mimic, the pronunciation and speech patterns of fluent speakers. This helps the students parrots to avoid developing a heavy accent that may later hinder their efforts to communicate parrot. In a comparable way, we should learn from those mimic parrots who have mastered the "art of teaching" the new language parroting. (2 Tim. 4:2) Ask for help crackers. Be willing to accept correction WT litteratrash for cage lining when you make mistakes poop.
Para. 16, left out an important warning:
16. Continue to make progress. A person may learn enough of a language to get by in normal conversation but then stop making progress. A similar problem may arise with those speaking the pure language. (Read Hebrews 5:/1-14.) What can help us to overcome this tendency? Be willing to expand your vocabulary, as it were. "Now that we have left the primary doctrine about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying a foundation again, namely, repentance from dead works, and faith toward God, the teaching on baptisms and the laying on of the hands, the resurrection of the dead and everlasting judgment." (Heb. 6:1, 2) But dammit, don't try to make too much progress by, like, studying Hebrew or Greek! Even the Faithful and Discreet Slave's Governing Body hasn't learned that stuff! So just read our Corporate crap and memorize it, drones!
Don't you just love when the Watch Tower Corp tries to expand the dubs vocabulary? 17 is a gem:
17 Assign definite study times. Shorter study periods on a regular basis are better than longer periods held spasmodically.
Actually, "spasmodically" has a secondary definition, "intermittently", which basically means stopping or starting at intervals. Well, by definition, all study periods would be intermittent since one isn't studying constantly. So, the secondary definition doesn't fit... unless dubs can figure out how to study in their sleep.
Now going back to the primary definition. "Spasmodically" would be relating to spasms or convulsions. Well, perhaps those longer study periods would cause JW convulsions. So, the primary definition doesn't fit very well.
Only if you go from the adverb to the adjective, do you find reference to "erratic" as an alternative.
Anyway, I found the wording bizarre... just like the Kingdumb song refering to "bees that were molested". Ye--ouch!!!
Para 19 has an interesting scriptural note:
Today, the gift of tongues is no longer available to God's servants. (1 Cor. 13: 8 )
Also, 1 Cor. 13 says:
8 Love never fails. But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
True to Paul's prophecy, at Watch Tower Corporation, knowledge has also been done away with.
Oh, and I forgot something back at para. 3:
3. Today, literally thousands of languages -some say over 6,800-are spoken in the world. Each of these languages requires different thought patterns. It appears, then, that when Jehovah God confused the speech of those rebels, be blotted out all memory of their previous common language( He not only introduced into their minds new vocabularies but also changed their thought patterns and produced new grammars. No wonder the location of that tower came to be called "Confusion," or Babel! (Gen. 11:9, ftn.) Interestingly, only the Bible gives a satisfying explanation of the origin of the diversity of languages that we see today.
Okay, so at the Tower of Babel, Hojovah produced over 6,800 different languages and different thought patterns? Ladies and gentlemen... we have new light here!!!

Pure language ?

"Study the grammer"? WTF? Yeah but just make sure you don't study the original Hebrew & Greek Grammer using independent sources outside the WBTS publications, or you will discover all our clever little mistranslations and twistings of scripture to support some of our false creeds. Refer recent KM.
