is it safe to say that you are a Dallas fan? Cuz if so you rock my friend!
Huge massive Cowboys fan here. First game I ever remember was the Ice Bowl (1967 Green Bay vs. Dallas). I even go so far as to collect the games, my oldest being the 1970 Monday Night Football game they were shut out 38-0.
Having said that, Dallas ain't going anywhere this year. Jerry made a huge mistake in hiring Wade Phillips. I said at the time, Jason Garrett was the smarter choice. Phillips is a good defensive coordinator, not great but good, and he's a terrible head coach. This is his third stop and in all 3, he's been very consistent -- poor special teams, high penalties, lack of attention to detail and poor finishes. Those are not ingredients for a great head coach.
He will be fired at the end of the season. Bank on it.
At that point, I don't know. I think I'd talk to Cowher and see if he'd be interested, bring on Dom Capers as your defensive coordinator and keep Garrett.
As for the NFL, I think this is the Giants year, again. I think they repeat. Until Rothesliberger injured his shoulder, I was thinking the Steelers would be the dark horse. Now I don't know if anyone can beat out Tennessee, who has one of the top 3 coaching staffs in the league. If anyone has a chance against New York, I'd lay odds on Carolina or the Eagles. Philly matches up well against the Giants, as do the Panthers. But playing at the Meadowlands in January is a tough, tough place to win if you're the visiting team.
