Did any of you have "secret information" about the Society you used to tell

I used to tell what I thought was secret information that I had heard from Bethelites and C.O.'s and long-time elders, things that I honestly believed.

    Here are two of them:

I used to say that Ray Franz was invited to Brooklyn Bethel for the funeral when Fred Franz died, since he is his nephew. (I heard this from a Bethelite, butu I only told this story to elders and pioneers, I said it was private information) He said that in the Bible account of David refusing to kill Saul when he had the opportunity, that shows we should never judge the anointed, even if they leave the truth. Even at MTS they made a similar point about disfellowshipped anointed and how we shouldnt judge them. They didnt mention Ray Franz. But back to the story, so according to what I heard, Bethel invited Ray Franz for the funeral, but he refused to come. It just shows how loving Bethel is, to invite someone who is apostate for a funeral. And it shows that Bethel never judges anointed, they leave that up to Jehovah. I believed all that.

I remember how everyone seemed to be wowed by that story. I was, when I first heard it.

The other one is that Jehovah will probably reveal to the Governing Body when the end at hand. The long time C.O.'s would sometimes tell us that while we were in car groups of elders and servants, because they said that Jehovah always reveals things to his servants beforehand, like Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar.

    Oh, one more.

I heard more than once that, "The top ten most intelligent people in the world are in Jehovah's organization." Or something similar to that. "Jehovah makes sure the most intelligent people are in his organization, just like he had Joseph, the great organizer, in Pharaoh's household."

The older Bethelites would tell us that Bethel was so smart in making MEPS that IBM copied them, and also their printing methods, and construction methods, and farming methods, and laundry methods, and cooking methods, and organizing assemblies throughout the world, and the new videos from the Society, and the way everything done at Bethel is more efficient than anywhere in the world. And that in governments throughout the world, there are Witnesses in non-elected positions, just like Daniel. So we are ready for the new system. No one is organized like us.

I used to believe all that. That Jehovah's Organization is the smartest, the most loving, the most advanced. No one in the world is as organized as us. And when you grow up in the truth, you know nothing else, so you believe all that. I used to sit at the table at Bethel and see those brothers who had been at Bethel for so many years, I was in awe of them. They seemed to be so humble even though they served in God's House. We were always taught this was a taste of Paradise.

So, did any of you have "secret information" that you used to believe? Were you in awe of Bethel and the stories they told there?

    Nah, man. Just you.

    hhahahaha

I heard some of that stuff secondhand, and was very skeptical, because it didn't pass the smell test. It was not enough for me to start to fully question the organization at the time, however. I just thought the messenger was wack, and kept it movin'.

*** w56 2/1 p. 93 The "Triumphant Kingdom" Assemblies of 1955 ***During the convention, at recommendation of the American army, which had inspected the cafeteria at Yankee Stadium, Major Faulkner of the British War Department came accompanied by his wife and inspected the cafeteria service. He said he could see that love ran the cafeteria here. Here, as at Vancouver and at American assemblies, the military or civil defense authorities inspecting were impressed with the general organization and efficiency.

I remember the above. There were many apocryphal stories that spread by word of mouth. I tended not to even believe unless the WTS put it in print and gave sources.

Dear Bonafide, I never was close to any big heavy inside sources, but would occasionally hear such stories, and would swallow them hook line and sinker. I was "born in" third generation. Things started to change slowly in 1995-1996. I slowly started to see cracks in the watchtower walls. I started to see how everybody just accepted things because "we were suppose to be humble and submissive" and "wait on Jehovah". I like to think of it as sort of like a court case and some one you love like a family member is on trial. When the case first goes to trial, your sure your loved one, could never have done anything so bad, but slowly as the evidence begins to come out, it becomes more and more difficult not to accept. But when all emotion is laid aside, it's either true or false. I now see clearly, that the organization is just another deceptive trap, like a lot of others, to obscure the real truth. Just my thoughts. seek2find

What a bunch of horse crap! I mean, haven't they already judged the person in order for them to have been DF!!!

I heard more than once that, "The top ten most intelligent people in the world are in Jehovah's organization." Or something similar to that.

Talk about completely contradicting Jesus! He said:

    (Matthew

11:25)25 At that time Jesus said in response: "I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.

    (Luke

10:21)21 In that very hour he became overjoyed in the holy spirit and said: "I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, O Father, because to do thus came to be the way approved by you.

I think there are some very intelligent JWs but they are not getting to use their brains. They constantly have to switch their brains off in order not to go completely cuck-coo with all the unexplained questions

I always had this fantasy that the Vatican had access to direct contact with God and also knew the exact date when the end will come , but because they had already been judged by Jahoobah they had no chance ever of forgiveness but they shared this exclusive information with the G/B, and that's why the WTS had to be right ! Crazy it may sound, and I think I shared this with Dubs
