And to top it off...my husband told the guy he could move all his storage sheds from that property to ours because he couldnt legally store anything on that lot if he didnt live on it....and do you know that to this DAY that shithead has his shed on our property and is storing his shit FREE on MY YARD? My husband said he did that in case someday he wanted to buy the lot and to keep his options open!

I'd be having a yard sale and I'll either sell all of his crap for either dirt cheap, or I'd give it all away for free. When he discovers that you've screwed him over, I'd simply say "now you know how we feel. Now piss off and don't ever set foot on our property again."

Poor dear. How distressing for her. I don't think any here are surprised at that behavior.

Legally speaking, on the surface, it doesn't seem she would have much of a case. He got the loan and bought the house; he and the bank own it.

Even if she signed an owner-finance agreement with him, she still probably couldn't transfer ownership to another person, as she wouldn't "own" it until she made the last payment.

Wish we knew all the juicy details of the loan and how much equity there really was. With the slow housing market, she might be lucky just to break even, anyway. She will probably have to accept the fact that she was just a renter, and as such, has the option of renting from someone else. Let him worry about making those bank payments.

I guess I learn from this that no matter whether they are friends, ex-jws or jws, or family, get it in writing legally.

Even when you are dealing with the "friend sticking closer than a brother", it is wise to 'put it in writing.'

    Because sometimes people die.

How dispicable can a person especially a so called witness treat a sweet lady that way? I would have him tarred and feathered for what they have done. How do they live with their conscience? Oh yes they don't have one. How could that son in law do what he is doing and expect this dear elderly lady to get back some equity. Doesn't she have her orginal reciepts for the money she put down on the house and didn't they draw up papers with a lawyer.? There must be some documentation somewhere that she put the down payment on this house.

It doesn't come as a suprise to me that more and more JW 's are dishonest. I was just recently told of a case where a witness embezzeled 100,000 .00 from a brother, and in the same congregation another brother also embezzeled money from another brother for 10's of thousands of dollars and two elders were deleted for shady business practices. The first case I mentioned the brother has no intention what so ever to pay the brother back and in fact the brother who was wronged is now no longer in the organization and beat this he never reported this incident to the elders. I saw recently this brother"s wife (who stole the money) and she looked so terrible and not only that but she was an extremely beautiful sister, now she looks old and stressed out with wrinkles on her face like strained and has gained alot of weight. I guess fear will do that to a person I am sure they worry if the Brother wronged will ever report him to the elders or the authorities.

Iknow I wouldn't want to be in their situation.

And that couple that screwed over that sweet sister I hope they rot in hell.

They still will DF someone for fraud-----as long as it was a 'worldly' person or company that you stole from. It's a different story though when you're dealing with a fellow Dub. It's rare that you ever hear of someone getting The Axe for ripping off anyone at the Hall.....The only thing I can think of is that, as with the child abuse cases, they don't want to report to one of Satans' mineons that a crime has been committed amongst The Chosen Ones, so more often than not, it's not reported to the police. In their defense, the Society has for years, always recommended that when you're dealing with fellow Witnesses, you should always get everything in writing and make it legal. I think if they actually reported fraud to the police and DF the offender, maybe cases like this would be less frequent.

That's what I told my mom to ask her next time she's talking to her......Unfortunately, I think this is another case where of course you want to trust your own family, and therefore you don't think legal documentation is required.

Possession is 9/10th's of the law they say. I'd get your mom to advise her ASAP not to move out of the house until this is all settled. Ahole isn't enough to describe someone who would do something that low.

Does that mean if I go back to the Kingdumb Hell and sleep there for a few nights that I'll own 9/10th of it?
