I take issue with this WT quote
We might ask, 'Did Jehovah fail to be "the Provider of escape" for faithful ones whose lives were cut short?' That could hardly be the case.
I think rather than use the word "fail" it should read "choose"
We might ask, 'Did Jehovah [choose] to be "the Provider of escape" for faithful ones whose lives were cut short?' That could hardly be the case.
Failure would imply that "Jehovah [attempted] to be "the Provider of escape" for faithful ones whose lives were cut short" but was unable to save them.
I think God simply picks and chooses based on a number of undetermined variables. If he sees you might be a small part of his will he might spare you, if you're not useful to him he will let you die. It's that simple.
I can never understand how God "clothes the lillies of the field" and "number the hairs of our head" but can't save JWs (or anyone else) from a murderer, rapist or acts of war or civil disturbance.
