This will sound kind of goofy, but after all those years of hearing about Solomon's temple in books studies (god those yellow and blue study books in 1973 and 1974 were killers), I was kinda disappointed when they showed a computer animation of what they think it looked like. I mean compared to Herod's temple in the first century this was like a starter temple for first time buyers.
And yeah I'm shallow and easily distracted by sparklies. -

The most important thing I gleaned from the entire show was the concept of a Universal God. Why the heck don't people see that a Universal god is far superior to one who thinks only a selective group who jump through hoops A and B should be favored? A god who loves and cares for all of his creatures, faithful or wayward, and offers all of them hope, is farrrrr superior to the jealous god Jehovah.

I think people want to be "special," have the secret handshake. And God made it pretty clear he wants special people. I think.

Or people say he did. People project onto God the image that they want him to be. And some of them are like siblings in rivalry, "Dad likes me better than you." Or neighbors in rivalry, "We are more special and wonderful than you." In God's eyes, all of his creatures are special. They are all rough drafts of the people they can be.
